You can also just use parallel lives effects to make 2 smaugs from lore 3, sac 1 and get double the treasure from it in gruul colours

Irenicus's Vile Duplication would allow you to make copies of Smaug that are non legendary. You can also copy Brudiclad to make more Brudiclads

seems like a really fun deck and if you want to be spikier you could just cut the mirror box, storm of saruman and maybe some of pyromancers for interaction. the result would somewhat of an izzet control deck with brudiclad and smaug as finishers.

Can you not use the transform effect from Brudiclad to make all the Treasures and other incidentals into Smaug, which would proceed to instantly die to Legend Rule and generate EVEN MORE TREASURES for next turn? As they say, GREEED IS GOOOOD Or are you not allowed to trigger Legend Rule like that and its just a non-valid target?

You can, but generally speaking you either are in a position to win the game if you copy some other token, or you need to keep your other tokens for chump blocking, so it's a very win more play, I do wish Seth did it in one of the games though, it would have been hilarious. There are many situations in a more casual format like commander where Bruidiclad copying your Smaug is a very funny and very powerful play, because you will have stuff to do with those treasures

Seems like a good place to record a rather spectacular and janky win I had with Smaugj in Limited. The turn I got my Smaug token I was able to play Mirkwood Bats, hit for a hasty six in the air, then Balrog's Lash saccing Smaug making 14 treasure tokens for 14 bat triggers, 20ing them in one turn.
