I Built an arctic farm vs 1000 pop in Vanilla Rust...
Today, I decided to do something I had never done before... build a farm! I had a lot to learn and this journey wouldn't be so easy as I was playing a 1000 player server. There would be chaos, tranquility and most importantly an awesome farm! I hope you all enjoy :D

Rust is an action-packed Survival adventure game. Whilst PvP is a dominant part of the game, base building and coming up with unique constructions whilst also trying to survive in the harsh lands of Rust is what makes Rust.. well Rust. Usually playing Solo definitely makes this game harder but it's the reason I'm always crawling back!

nice first step into making a farm, be nice to see more of it, little tip you can double stack the planter boxes e.g like putting boxes on a shelf. also one sprinkler and 1 light can run 4 planters

Pro farmer tip Building close To water eliminates water catchers but takes up More power. Because Of the powered valve and the water purifer and water pump once those are powered to the srinklers and lights are set up it becomes automated and all u have to do is collect your spoils. The weed farmers of rust have the best farms for this specific they really break it down for u it took me 6/8 hrs of tweaking with it and watching all sorts of farming content that isnt pvp or anything but farmin. I personally have 150-200 hours of that kind of farm on rust

Casual farms are something I've seen a lot of over the last couple of months. Wiljum covered a water catcher update that dropped a few months ago, where he built a skyrise base with a cloth farm. He used large water catchers, and it was actually viable. All you need is a single day of rain, and you're set more or less for the wipe. Loved the video! You always manage to make interesting base designs, and seeing you pull it off on a high-pop server is awesome. You mentioned however that you don't like the ocean? I'd recommend giving a water-themed wipe a try. Fishing, diving, water monuments, tug boats, subs. There's a lot to get into. Looking forward to the next one!

I thought I was the only crazy one farming in the winter biome, I made a fully electric/water/conveyor cave base a few wipes ago in the winter biome(only cave that could) had to use water catchers at my forward base, definitely not as good as the forest biome but they still filled overnight. Another thing i saw tea guy tom and others do when having multiple floors, is having your barrels in between levels doubling as jump ups but also drop boxes for auto collection with the pipes from the indsutrial update going straight into a production cycle for teas/surringes or whatever you can do with the harvest and from there either into your stash or again directly into your whats it called where you sell stuff from ... . In the end you only need to plant and harvest every hour or so and anything else can be automated including selling and therefor getting stuff you need.

@@tanktank7204 oh yeah worms, grubs and fish, plus any extra food you have lying around (human meat included) can be thrown into the composter to help produce fertilizer. Even if you don’t plan on running a farm you can sell fertilizer for a decent amount of scrap at Bandit Camp

2x5 - is the most efficient farm design. Check TeaGuyTom's video on his farm design: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5i3hnmEbL2dj5o Cross breeding is simple: 5 Greens = Pick that plant. Greens are easier to replace than Reds. Clone the 5 Greens until you have extras. To cross breed plant the 5 Greens first, and wait until it gets to the 2nd stage, then plant the genes you want directly next to them (not diagonal.) There is a 50/50 chance the 5 greens will absorb the genes you want. If it picks up a Red, dispose of it. Continue to cross breed until all green. Some say GGGYYY, others say GGYYYY (in any order) but w/e it doesn't matter. - Honestly god genes only matter if you have a larger farm. Ways to get more water to a mountain - Water catchers suck, try building a water base, then filling a 3 compartment vehicle (with a water tank on the back) - There is a glitch to endlessly fill the tank from the water base, despite being very far from the pumping base. - You should look it up, or simply build a water base.

"only thing i know is i have to live near a river or an ocean" mmm there was vid shortly ago with an exploit where you connect waterpumps/barrels to a tank truck and you can move that truck anywhere on the map, connect it there to your water barrels there which then are filling up and that way you can do in the desert or in the snow or if you somehow get it to an ocean base ... and do your farm independent from rivers or oceans o_0

Honeycomb is a waste of resources, it's just empty space. The thing to do is use your farm as the barrier between your core base and the world so instead ofd wasted space to get extra walls between you and the world you have space with planters which makes you money.
