UPDATE: It does kinda work on the in game tracks. Where the tracks join together with other tracks it’s not good but otherwise it works!

Just can't switch tracks I think and also....watch out for the AI train!

You can use the map object hider mod to “delete” sections of in game track, then place one of my switches in and use my straight pieces to tie it back into the in game tracks

10:26 The fact that you need to set the switch is actually not too far off from how things work irl. Yes, most of the time, the locomotive will force the points over, but sometimes, with manual switches like that one, they aren't built to handle that and so can get jammed if a locomotive tries to force them open. Then the rails just _can't_ move, and it derails the train. Alternatively, switches like that can also be strong enough to withstand the force, meaning a locomotive can't force them over and derails that way.

This reminds me of an idea I came up with as a 6 year old, to build a railway on my family's former property. I think at the time i thought it'd help with like fencing or carting breakdown gear out or sometging idk I was 6 all I thought about back then was trains and tractors. Seeing this in Farm sim makes the 6 year old in me come out again, as I can finally pull this off on the FS version of that farm I grew up on... this is Awesome!

Exactly what i'm saying cuz how tired isn't it when you have a fully loaded semi truck and an trailer and your friend ask if you can help them and the answer from you is sorry im fully loaded but instead of that if this train mod comes to console it would be so nice and good cuz you know the second track on silverrun forest i would like this mod on every single map i play on

That's never going to happen. These mods rely on scripts. And the platforms do NOT allow 3rd party scripting. If you want the really cool stuff you have to go computer. Sorry, just the reality.

Idea: To assist in putting rolling stock and locos on the track, try adding placable decorations such as concrete road dividers very near the track as guides on either side.

Hi Klutch. It doesnt have to be superflat land. There are grades to the track- positive and negative so you can slowly build up or down a hill/ gradient on a map.

Why did you do balloon tracks at either end instead of just making a locomotive run around siding to attach to the other end of the train to go back? That is how the real railroads do it. Not to nit-pick but your crossing gates are way to close to the tracks. I love this mod, but it looks like it needs a little more refining before coming more useable. The tracks need to be able to auto connect to each other correctly to make this practical. I hope they get the issues sorted out quickly. Also would love a custom locomotive paint scheme option and naming to create unique short line railroad names.

From what I've seen with this mod, the train cars don't like to attach to the locomotive at both ends. They're like the trailers in game that have a male and female connection (Truck Ball Hitch and Trailer Tongue) vs the sexless connection that an irl train has.

on a non facing point switch like that the engine will force it open. what happens is when you run through it then shove back across the points they flop freely and cause the derailment as the trucks can go both directions splitting the car across multiple tracks. having done it in real life thats how a run through switch works.

Switches are set to derail the train if it goes down the wrong way. It's a preventive action to not send trains down the wrong track with possible workers or parked trains on

The precision hands mod is strong enough to pickup the train cars. Just have to change the liftable weight amount in the game settings menu.

When you enter the rail return loop you need to switch the line so that its open when you do the full turn and come back to switch that rail will be close causing derailment throw the switch to open and you wont have issues
