Hey everyone! Back in my own Scrap Mechanic Survival world again and I'm excited to work on a project I've had in mind for some time. Instead of having a boring old pump at an oil pond I decided to make a whole gas station that will craft oil into fuel and pump it to gas pumps! Hey everyone! So I ended up getting a copyright strike on this video, I immediately resolved it but the KZbin Studio has some silly (in my opinion) ways of dealing with stuff like this. I ended up replacing the audio around the 39:20 mark with music from the YT library but it's SO DANG LOUD. Here's the kicker, if I lower the volume on it, you can hear the original audio...which defeats the point of covering up the copyright music and frankly sounds terrible with 2 songs clashing. KZbin editor doesn't appear to give you the option to mute sections of your video's audio so I did the best I could with the tools that I had! Just wanted to give a heads up :) TL;DR: LOUD AUDIO WARNING AT 39:20 for a couple minutes

I’ve been overthinking how to say this to you guys cause I’m so ashamed. There’s no words to really explain how bad I feel, it’s been hard to even look in the mirror today holding this all inside. It feels as if I’m not even me anymore and I don’t know how else to go about this, so much shame and guilt has been built up inside me that I can’t even explain my embarrassment. I know you're not mad, just disappointed. I feel like the only way to get past it is to be honest with you all so here goes nothing I guess........I should have connected the split chest closer to the pumps and saved myself the effort of grinding for all those circuits 🤦‍♂️😂

Hah... for a moment there, I thought it was something serious. :D Also, for the narrow area, I thought you'd think of it, but here's a suggestion. Make a few stairs to the raised rock behind that wall and have like a 2 level dining area, with the tables at the back being a bit raised, overlooking the tables next to the windows. This way it wouldn't look that cramped, and would look more like a diner having like 3-4 tables, rather than just the 1 or 2 that would fit in the narrow place between the wall and the windows. :D

I love that the focuse was on aesthetics (and they are wonderful), but I do wish the grind for materials wasn't so painful and time-consuming so more people could enjoy this building aspect of the game. I appreciate the hard work, and am excited for future videos!

Scrap mechanic could really benefit from taking some of the building ideas from space engineers, having one block that you change the shape of and then place is so nice for keeping your inventory uncluttered. Love the long video Kosmo!

Me cringing watching kosmo run 2 full vacuum tube lines... you could have mounted the chest under the island between the pumps and only ran 1 vacuum line out to the pump area and Y off from there. Then access to the additional supply could be right out at the pumps.. however, great build. Really love the asthetics..

38 seconds in, actually yes it is possible to use vacuum pumps to fill up, I did some testing I forget exactly how far but its around 14 blocks or so is the max distance, so if your about 14 ish blocks away between the vacuum and the chest or the gas tank works too, then you can connect a switch pulsing off the 3 logic gate setup to have it pump fuel into the chest or tank. what I was thinking, was since chests don't work directly on the gas tanks, why not setup an elbow from chest to vacuumed to gas tank, with pulsing logic gates, and a switch, and then just have the vehicle drive under or next to a vacuumed pump at the gas station to pump fuel into the chest so now you can hold a but load of fuel and best of all, you can stack the chests and connect them via the pipe port and carry unlimited fuel in your portable car now. your welcome... warning, may be slow or inefficient try multiple ports input...

an update, after testing, theres no way to get it to happen faster because the chests and gas tank only allow like 1 fuel per um what is it measured in, ticks? 1 per tick... idk but yea 1 at a time, and without mods theres no way that I know of to increase this number however, this is still faster then fuel gets consumed so in theory you'll never ever ever run out of fuel if you had like 1-4 chests filled with fuel, all attached to your vehicle and a tube system complete with vacume pump to drop fuel into the gas can as you drive around, and you filled up just the chests using the same method at a gas station... Id rather just swap out the chests though and always have 2 full chests of fuel so no matter were i'm at, i can just forget about gas for a while and not have to refill ever 30 minutes lol. weird though because I don't want to use those piston cars because I like the realism of having to fuel up, downside, having to fuel up to rapidly...

When I made my Gas station, I used Vac tubes to build a loop into the Craftbot. So I only needed 1 chest. I made the Craftbot look like he is running the stand.

@@shravankashyap9437 I built the Stand around the Bot, and threw some stuff around it like Spare tires, gas(because they look like Cans), water, Batteries, one of those vacation posters from Fruit stands, and I put some seeds on the counter to look like he is selling snacks, and a Radio playing. I uses one of those Fresh signs by slapping it in between wood walls to make a sign that says gas, makes the yellow letters glow green at night.

I suggest building a counter over the rock face where it gets narrow inside the gas station. A place to get drinks or slushees from the machines or food items. The gas station looks amazing though! Job well done!

When you redo the interior, you can open up an inside corner (like just to the left of the potted plant) and stick the vending machine in there. The bottom part of it will be in the ground, but that won't be visible from inside (or outside) the station. That will get you a little more room. The dining area could have some stools (those small green chairs from guard shacks) atop some pipes (maybe bearings) and that wall could be transformed into a table top/bar top. slap a cookbot on it with some other stuff too.

Had an idea, just get rid of the normal chest and daisy-chain some fuel tanks together, you can have those as the "backup tanks" in the back room. I know it'll cost more, but you'll NEVER have to worry about oil overflowing, the downside is you would then be forced to change how the "fuel pumps" are connected, because the fuel cans only have 2 connection points. Where are T joints when you need them?? (Modded has them)

One of the first things I did when modding this game was to edit the stock objects to make them stackable and, where applicable, increase that stack size 10 fold. Much easier when you can put 400 vacuum tubes in one slot.

Digging the gas station. Maybe turn the narrow area into a display wall? Recessed items from the scrap towns in that wall? And you need a big gas station sign. Possibly "Rocket Fuels" or something. Then it would be perfect.

You should use some of your pimple lights to make a sign that says "GAS" up in the air above the building. You could even use a bearing and another one of your controllers to make it spin!

Kosmo I'm sorry to say this but IF you had located the chest near the fuel cans then split off to fill the 2 fuel cans you would have used alot less tubing and saved yourself alot of time and grinding Also glad to see the truck has had its zits removed 😅

if you want to keep the oil always on and pumping, fill up the output chest with scrap metal (haybots are an infinite supply so no need to worry about limited resources) so that way only gas can be pumped to the canisters. ofc, having the extra chest full of gas beneath can come in handy, but with this other method you won't ever have to worry about turning the pump on and off.

@Kosmonaut A little usability tweak, for the oil pump: Make the switch to open/close the ‘Do Not Enter’ door the one that turns the vacuum pump on & off, so it’s only on while the door is closed.

just an update, i've got the fant mod, so I can pump into and out of chests using the vacuum, my favorite thing about vacuuming into the chest is you can take entire stacks at a time, with the fant mod there is the large chest, and filters on all fant mod chests, so I set it so oil goes into oil chests only and gas goes into gas only chests, I also have small chest filter on the vacuum pump another part of fant mod, so I have 2 input vacuum pumps that are inputting to fant mods joint tube i forget what its called but it has 6 connection ports for tubes, so 1 gas tank has 2 inputs from this connection and an elbow, and I have a large chest filled with gas and its the wall to my gas station, it doesn't exactly work like a regular gas station because I have to be next to the tank, but it takes 2 entire stacks per second of gas into the vehicle and You can also connect a chest to the tube system with the 6 way junction and it will fill the gas tank and the chest i havn't confirmed in which order yet but my theory is the closest chest gets the gas first, testing needed. anyways instead of waiting for 1 gas per second, its one entire stack and so my gas tank and 1 regular size chest "standard vanilla not the small vanilla chest" and both get filled from empty to full in roughly 17 seconds, also Like I posted earlier, I've got 6 craft bots all crafting gas at all times again with fant mod its the auto craft bot so that it never drops the craft recipe it always keeps it. I also have 12 vacuum pumps "complete overkill I know" that input the oil to the craft bots from a large chest. this is the fastest i've ever seen a vehicle get gas...

I would have done what I call a “vertical double hinge snake door” The way it works is it rotates so that the door is on the ceiling but while it rotates it folds in half so the lower section looks like it’s not rotating and just moving. The final position would be the door folded in half well covering the inside portion of the two windows above the door. The reason why it’s called a snake door is because if you look from the side it kinda looks like a squished snake. The double hinge part is because you would need 2 hinges for it to be folded in half and out of the way. It’s a really cool door and it’s not hard nor expensive but it’s also unconventional so it’s up to you if you wanna use it or not.

Hey if your going to make this a gas station. Make a cook bot and have it next to a chest and have it be making food kind of like how hank in scrapmans survival world brought scrapman milk.
