It’s the sims so it’s not that deep but I would have flipped the formal living room and the family room - that way the kids making noise would be next to the kitchen and wouldn’t be next to the office while someone else is working. I really like how this came out though! Very classic without being dated and perfect for a family!

It would such a fun feature if sims who are doing something work related or that requires focus, they could get distracted when child sims are too loud nearby. BUT I know that maxis would make it the most annoying feature possible and I would absolutely hate it

They would look sooo good in a music studio or an office and they would be functional if sims could get annoyed by other loud sims. And I guess that function would work similarly to the loud neighbors in city living, which is super annoying but it makes for realistic gameplay lol

In the same vain I’d flip the kids/main room and the teen/elder room. The adults should have the rooms with the decks, just because a kids room having a door that leads outside seems very unsafe

I started Simming with The Sims 4, so I never got to play Generations, but so many people say how amazing the pack was so I'm super excited to maybe get to experience it with the new pack! Side note: I think lots of people are going to be really upset if the new pack isn't Generations after all of the teasing that we've been getting lately 😬

i think the simmers would riot if it was not generations. it was SUCH a good expansion. think about how little we have with elders now. honestly, i wouldn't be opposed if the entire pack was JUST content for elders. but it certainly is looking in the direction of generations-adjacent.

Im Europe there is a "generation home concept," which is quite common; it's usually 3 stories, the lower half is usually the grandparents and the upper stories for the newer generation 👌

TBH I think a world or neighborhood that's just like a 55+ community or a country club or a retirement community would be so cool. But like a really lovely one! Lots of amenities (community lots). A shallower and more accessible pool. An event hall. Bingo nights. Board game nights. Polka dance nights. You could plan visits with the kids amd grandkids. Idk

This build is great! Such a great layout! It reminds me of the houses in Nancy Meyers' movies. I also worked as a teenager. I got my first job when I was 16 over 3000 km away from my family. I wanted to learn French, so for the summer I moved to a different province where the language is spoken in order to immerse myself. It was so much fun!

Started working at 17, I definitely spent some of my money on furniture and whatnot. We grew up without a whole lot of extra income, so it wasn't uncommon for us to snag good furniture off the side of the road or from second hand stores. I still remember tons of times where my dad and I would turn around and check out furniture on the side of the road and bring it home. I still have end tables that are in perfectly decent shape that someone tossed in a dumpster (made my dad clean those LOL) As a teen walking home from school once with my dad we even found a tossed out computer and happily lugged it home for spare parts. Almost all the furniture we thrifted has survived the test of time and 6+ moves over the last 15 or so years. Can't say that for the furniture we bought brand new though

Really enjoyed this build and I must say that glasses really suit you, Deli! I was actually not allowed to work as a kid or teen. My parents believed kids should focus on school work and extra-curriculars and not concern themselves with money. I was in my 20's before I finally had a room decorated to my tastes.

20:07 as a parent, curtains in toddlers room are a big no anyway- at least for us! I use that shimmery cling film on my kids windows, so there’s privacy, but they can’t wrap themselves up in the curtain or tug them down!

To answer your question about working I didn’t start working until last year actually! I feel as though I started working much later compared to most of my peers (at 18) however throughout high school I was struggling immensely with my mental health. At that point in my life I was at such a low point where most days I couldn’t even get out of bed. But after working now for almost a year and a half I have to say I love it. Although I’m not currently doing something I love with my whole heart it’s helped me develop so many more healthier lifestyle habits and has even improved my mental health some. I’m even up for promotion to be assistant manager in just another week or two! 22:52

as an architect student i can answer the symmetry question for you xD an old architect, Victruvius, based one of the ideologies of architecture based of symmetry. this was inspired by the idea of symmetry in nature, such as humans. Have symmetry in a building or space makes us feel more comfortable in our enviroment, which is ideal for a home! If there's any other architects to correct me or add on too that'd be amazing but this is my understanding!

For a chiney outter wall, do a 3 by 1 like how you had it on the lower level then do a 1 by 1 as you go up levels, till the roof. then add gable half roofs to the sides in a 1 by 1 form and then it self explainatory from there!. thats how I make mine :) . ♥

In Canada we have some houses that have en suite and it’s literally just a toilet and a sink some of them do you have showers? Some of them are like full on but it’s quite common to have a smaller on sweet and then have like a bigger main bathroom just so that you know you don’t disturb your kids if you have to go to the bathroom right ever
