It might work smoother if you use the low friction gray pins for the arm pivots
@aabsc3 жыл бұрын
It definitely would, the black ones shouldn't be used on rotating parts like that.
@aabsc3 жыл бұрын
Just noticed the gears are on blue friction pins too, I believe the non friction ones are beige. This builder doesn't seem to realize the difference between them.
@nitsu29473 жыл бұрын

This is a great and simple design. You can build it just by looking carefully in second one. For the programming, you choose the move tank block, setting to on, motor 1 to 100 and motor 2 to 98. It’s really simple, thanks for sharing this design!

Sorry for the wait. The build model is pretty simple, if you've got the EV3 Mindstorm kit. Pause the video and check it out. I don't have formal instructions made. I just use two large motors and program both to move infinitely. But set one's speed at 100 and one at 98, which will cause them to move at slightly different speeds and make cool designs. Play around with the speed for different patterns.

What are the part numbers of the two pieces attached on both sides of your LEGO EVE Mindstorms? Do you have a list of parts you used to build this.Have you ever thought of building a drawing machine that can use the gears on a Original Spirograph Set? I have 4 different Spirograph Sets and it would be fun to figure out how to build a drawing machine that could draw from the gears to the Spirograph set.

u said about friction, in the big 48tooth gears u used the blue friction pins why not use the tan coloured pins so its more smooth? i may be late but yeahhh
@JoshuaJohnDoubleJ3 жыл бұрын
By friction, i think he means the pen on paper. Having a pen write takes a lot of force and without him holding the brick down, it is more likely that the brick will move instead of the pen. The friction is needed to write, but it requires a strong force.
@williamwalters37963 жыл бұрын
@@JoshuaJohnDoubleJ He is talking about the pins that keep the large gears in place. Blue pins don’t spin as freely as tan pins. So if he used tan pins and a better pen, along with tan pins for the arm joints, he could have much less of a problem.
@timothyknorr81835 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering why you used the black pins on the cross beams instead of the tan frictionless pins? I'm going to make this and was just curious if that was intentional?
@manishprakashgupta20904 жыл бұрын
Tim Knorr I have the same query...
@racernatorde53183 жыл бұрын
A bit late, but anyway: They have much less play. If you would the tan pieces the pen could easily move a couple of milimeters. Obviously, this does cause alot more friction and some wear on the pins, but since he is using two powerful motors, that are geared down, and because those pins are super cheap, neither of these points is an actual issue.
