Forgot sand on the bottom. Remember, axolotl can't be on bare glads

Axolotls can indeed be in bare bottom tanks. It's actually the safest thing for them to be on besides very fine sand. Babies actually do best in bare bottom tanks, and axolotls can't even be on sand until they are 5-6 inches long. Bare bottom tanks can be difficult for them to get traction in, but as long as the water flow is gentle most should be fine.
