Something to consider, that most Minecrafters overlook, is to add mushrooms to their natural surroundings. Provided you know what to look for, most of the year you can actually find edible mushrooms all over the world. So adding them to fx. your forrests is just adding to the immersion 🙂 But if not for the edible ones, they are there none the less 🙂
@anonymousthesneaky2203 ай бұрын
Good mushrooms for beginners in North America, chosen by ease of positive identification: Morels - tricky to find, but practically impossible to mistake Chanterelles - Delicious, 2 lookalikes to avoid (jack o lanterns and false chanterelles), if the inside is completely white like a marshmallow and it has false gills, it is a chanterelle Puffballs - easy to find, cut open before eating, they should be solid all the way through and the inside should be completely white like a marshmallow. Kind of feel like marshmallows too. Chicken of the woods - A little bit tricky to find (look for dead standing oaks), technically a polypore rather than mushroom, not really any lookalikes I absolutely recommend getting into foraging, if you understand positive identification then it is in no way dangerous. Essentially positive identification removes subjectivity from identification - you check for certain characteristics that a plant has, and if all of them are true, you can be certain that you have the right plant or mushroom.

Small suggestion: right outside the mine, maybe you could have some iron ore blocks sitting on a pallet made of campfires, showing that they’ve been extracted and are waiting to be loaded onto the next available wagon. Also, maybe sprinkle in some raw iron blocks since those can naturally occur in the world.

Love the episode as always! Just an idea, but maybe you could create a pillager empire/ city that could have the remains of several nearby villages? you should add little bandit camps/run down villages to add to the lore or other things just to make it more realistic (if a run down village is on a mountain adding things in the wash further down can indicate it being uninhabited for a long period on time)

also maybe name the village iren veina, which is old English for... iron vein. or you could name it Ferrum which is latin for iron. maybe some mix of iron and birch like Ferrum Betula or something along the lines. but It would make sense for an iron mining town to be named by the fact that its an iron mine and not by some random thing. Other routs that would make sense would be to name it after some guy who started the mining company (which you could then label a cart that has iron in it in path with the same name to create the LORE.

Ooh, I hope you do something with the ruined Nether portal. I love finding random bits like that, and it's interesting to figure out how to work them into the story of the world. "So [the berries] aren't just only around the village." -- Berries would likely be encouraged to grow closer to the village (because the woods are dangerous), so it's believable to me to have more and better berry thickets in the woods nearer the village. Not that there wouldn't be none out in the forest, ofc. Love the canola field.

Agree on your mining explanation. Also iron vains are often ellips formed, and it would make sense to have some bigger holes in the Wall with one or two Ironore pieces left in the top or bottom. Because it is to much work for the payout. And strip mining is a vearry old mining method. A nother way to get Iron, instead of mining, is bog iron. Where you as the name says, get iron from the bog or vallies. Most of the Iron in Denmark was produced that way. Historicly speaking.

also known as "I want to build a new village for my world, but lets put that off for 11 minutes doing anything but that". Hey fWhip, there's a water cave right across from the unnamed village. Do you have any plans for that? Maybe a little alcove/base where the local ruffians gather, or maybe its Bandits that made the cave their base as they come to rob innocent travelers of their valuables when they come to the village for iron trading. Oh! There's an idea. You need a quest board in your main city, with perhaps an adventurer's guild hell, where quests (like defeating the local bandits) can be posted
