Since the track doesn't look too large at a glance, it's probably just a ton of the same object side by side (walls of buildings, rows of halfpipes, long stretches of straight road) that's filling up your item count. This is where I've found the object scaling to really come in clutch. Instead of using it to making huge props or skew proportions, it's crazy good for just reducing repetition. One flat panel for each building face, one 10x wide halfpipe replacing 10 standard ones, etc.

With regards to sides of the road, left side is better for getting onto a horse, as most people are right handed and learn to get on a horse by putting their left foot on the stirrup and lifting their right leg over. This meant that they could mount a horse from the kerb side and not have to walk into traffic to get on. With America, due to the specific build of multi-horsed transport vehicles for goods, the driver had to be positioned on the left of the vehicle, which means that they should be closest to the middle of the road to judge safely where they were in relation to the other flow of traffic. When Ford created the Model-T, he put the steering wheel on the left, as opposed to the middle which I believe had been done on vehicles up to that point, the world slowly adopted right side driving due to ubiquity and conformity, and any place that wasn't on an island tended to accept that and switch over because trying to work out which lane based on country is hard, but still quite doable if you have a clean break. Also, as a proud Australian, I can say that technically driving on the left is very, very slightly safer overall due to typical eye dominance I believe. Basically an irrelevant amount of increase of safety, but still, I take the win!

4:20 Personally I think driving on the left is better because your right (dominant for most people) is always on one of the most important parts of the car: the steering wheel, while you use your non-dominant hand for other things like switching gears, changing radio settings, picking up a drink, etc, it also means you can easily hold things like credit cards to payment devices at drive-through windows with your dominant hand. High-fiving opposing traffic is also sometimes a thing that happens. It's not technically NECESSARY for it to be dependant on your dominant hand, but I find it quite... handy

KAN! The run at 12:50 Was quite possibly the best line. The transition from the highway to the quarter pipe was steaming fast. Not only that, you cut in between the 5th/6th pillar perfectly. You had a better angle on the next corner maintaining your speed for an even faster wall transition back to the highway giving you a possible 1.5 to maybe... 3 seconds off? I tried my best to mark sections based off arbitrary checkpoints to make splits. I loved the kickflip transition off the first ledge by the way. The first time, I was like "whoa that was a cool trick" but then over and over again I began to realize, it's not just cool, it's a time save! lol good runs, great times all around. Keep em coming!

the shortcut is actually really hard to find, as it reveals itself as being a shortcut only after a turn hidden behind huge columns that blocks the line of sight to it, and even if you find this, you have then to understand that you join the official track back by doing a wall-slide jump to fall back in the correct place..! That's quite hard to catch when you are not even sure if there's a shortcut or not. Proof being that even with people knowing of its existence, some had a hard time finding it !

I remember hearing, we drive on the right because guns were a thing when the states were being settled. Its easier to aim to the left when holding a rifle, same theory as to why with swords you pass on left
@quas_naart2 жыл бұрын
I think there's another second to be gained on the shortcut by not climbing the wall to exit it so early. _/--- has more time at a slow speed than __/-, so you're crawling your way to the next booster once you're on the top. That and it looked like you were looking for the pillar to turn at, rather than counting out the distance and being prepared for the turn.
@MarcinEstkowski2 ай бұрын
The horse and sword works, but differently - if you're right-handed, your sword is attached to your left hip, so you mount the horse putting your right leg first. So - you're standing on the sidewalk by the road, your horse is on the street, you mount it using your right leg (left is less convenient, because of the sword), and now you're facing left... Left-hand-side traffic is correct. But Napoleon doesn't want that rule to be "as Englishmen do", so he ordered the other way in Europe. This is the story I've heard.

The origin of the "which side of the road we drive on" is because the majority of people are right handed. And most americans who wore a pistol on your right hip. So when you both walk/riding a horse down the road with your right sides away from each other, you can't be disarmed. And with the japanese driving on the left side, was because a right handed swordsman would wear the sword on the left hip. Going on the same principle of not being disarmed, they walked with their left sides away from each other. Which is why we drive on opposite sides of the road

I always heard the driving on the right and left was based on human instinct to help avoid collisions. In the US the steering wheel is on the left of the car and naturally will avoid an accident or car easier by driving on the Right of the road. In the EU and around the world where cars have the steering wheel on the right , they will drive on the left of the road, for the most part.

UK does not do it the proper way. You want your left hand on the wheel and your right hand free. The proper way to ride a horse is to have the reins in the left hand and your dominant hand free. On a carriage, you would hold the same way - you would sit on the left side (or on the left horse) steer with your left hand and control the whip/speed with right hand - brakes with left hand on rein. Since your sit on the left side, it's easier to avoid oncoming traffic if you are driving on the right side of the road!!!

The sword story is close. The actual reason is that you always mount or dismount a horse to the left. This is tradition now, but originated because you would hold your sword in your right hand, so the scabbard is always on the left. Horses are, and have always been trained to accept riders from the left because of this, even today, whether you drive on the left or the right. If you wish to dismount onto the edge of the road - to avoid the muddy surface and put your feet down on the roadside, you need to be on the left side of the road. When the car came along, the left hand drive cars let you exit a car on the same side. But due to seating position, driving on the right is safer as you have a clearer view of the road. If you have a passenger, it's polite to drop them off at the side of the road, so to match horses, you sit on the right, so the passenger can get in and out on the left.
@DanLo-tube2 жыл бұрын
I don't know for the rest but a few things on your message are false / misconceptions. Most countries started making cars with the driver on the left because the first ones actually required quite an amount of force to manipulate the lever that were located in the middle... So they put the driver seat on the left so that he used his right arm for the lever (as most people are right handed and being right handed was bad). Also for the scabbard, it's a misconception that it were on the opposite side of the hand..! Actually in combat, you don't want your sword in the scabbard on the same side of your shield. Because then there is a huge risk of being compressed against an enemy and being completely unable to pull out your sword. However with the scabbard on the side of your "sword-hand", nothing could ever prevent the soldiers to take out their sword, even when compressed with their shield against ennemies. ;)
