ngl this content is rather poetic, great powers throwing everything they have, money, men, resources, advisors, favours, influence... all for a piece of ice, worthless but important nevertheless due to the enemies paranoia and yours alike. All of your resources could be spent on things so much better and you could just establish peace on a soil that hasn't been tainted by human conflict yet you ignore it because you do not trust the other two sides and they also do not trust you. It wasn't about being better than them, its about making the other side worse than you.

They integrated an official submod. The bigger map and Antarctica is fun! People shouldn't consider this really a full update when the ability to play Antarctica has been out for years, and more of a filler and map expansion between other larger updates.

It is and probably always has been more of a storytelling game rather than a simply "Haha, paint map all black because I go Goring tree", it just didn't fit your taste, thats all. There are more *fun* mods in terms of action and obtaining world conquests. Remember, this is set in Cold War era, not WW2 or WW1. So please don't complain about not going guns blazing when it intentionally didn't want that. It's like asking for FPS experience in DDLC. So, what you can do is to just unsubscribe from this mod and play some KX, KR or Red Flood. Maybe even TFR, that sounds pretty cool ngl. But if you are complaining about Antartica being unrelevant then just ignore what I just said.

We could've gotten a major update that allows The OFN and other factions to be more revelant and be able to place more nations under their influence, which depending on the outcome can further increase their chances of winning But apparently, Antarctica was more important.

Me waiting for an actual good update in TNO (it will never come since the devs are too focused on useless content and """realism""" in a WW2 Axis victory mod) I am saddened by this, TNO was gold back in the day when they actually cared about making a fun mod. Until they tried to put realism in the mix and fuck it all up.

I mean the thing that made it stand out from the rest is the focus on flavour and realism. Whether it is Red Flood or KX or KR or even EU, they are much better gameplay-wise than TNO before the dev "got worse" (I'm specifically looking at you Britanny, you alone make up for 90% of my CPU usage). Personally speaking, I do like this idea, and at least those that I know of, also treats this mod more like a visual novel of a foreign yet rather realistic world than an actual game.
