Love these: no restrictions, just fun. It’s beautiful to have challenges, don’t get me wrong, but being THIS free and creative is so fun. P.s. went to the spa and thermal baths in Budapest, life changing experience, I’d recommend if you’ve trouble sleeping.

I have been to a spa a couple of times but I am super introverted and socially anxious so l really love the places that allow you to book online and give you an option to select a “quiet” experience where the masseuse or technician knows ahead of time that you would prefer to not make small talk. I usually bring my headphones and put one in to listen to an audiobook or podcast.

I use to be intimidated by spas, but in Los Angeles there are a lot of cheap Korean spas where you can just soak in the baths & do the saunas & steam rooms. A lot of my friends had tried it so I wanted to, too! The first time I went I was so nervous, but then seeing all the old Korean ladies totally chilled out in the saunas made me feel more comfy! It’s usually very quiet at this spas because there’s a general idea of respecting each other’s spa time. My favorite one even has a sleeping room that’s super dark & has super comfy recliners. Most of them also have a lil beauty store where you can buy a last minute face mask, etc too. All of that for like $40! (And no cut off time, either!) I typically don’t get massages at those spas because it’s so pricey, so I just pay to use the facilities. But I do have some friends who are massage therapists & they let me get massages for affordable rates. I didn’t grow up with anyone in my family ever treating themselves that way because we didn’t have a lot of money when I was a kid, but now I see how important taking those self care moments are! Right now I’m less in my spa self-care bag & more in my nature self-care bag. I’m really loving it! 💕

I’ve lived in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam and although close distance wise they have very different vibes, so definitely visit both if you can. As for architecture you’ll see Rotterdam is a lot more modern because the city center got bombed during WW2. Have fun visiting 🎉

Yep. my mother disliked Holidays and checked into one from thanksgiving to christmas for some of my life, so I went too sometimes. There's a few kinds. "Day spa" the kind you visit for specific treatment, the kind you stay in (hotel) that you go to for specific treatment and some "wellness" best example that I have is the Arlington hotel in hot springs AR, and then the kind you move into for a while (a retreat) for full body wellness like diet, vitamins, exercise, massage, yoga, spirituality, detox, and sometimes rehabilitation etc.

Spas are great!! I personally find them really relaxing. Totally understand the stranger aspect but there are spas you and your partner can go to that are just relaxing spaces to be in or more experiential. I’ve seen some in Utah where the entire room is full of pink Himalayan salt that you can just sit and relax in. I also went to Budapest and went to a Roman bath house with natural hot springs!! Those are also super fun experiential type spas where you don’t have to have a service booked to go.

I think for regular people it takes a while to have a "reason" to visit a spa. My first visit was my besties hen do (bachelorette for Americans). We went to a chain that is also a more expensive mid range gym which also has venues with extras like spa facilities. Went to the same place when my mother had a big birthday and I bought the package for her and i. This year i bought myself and a friend another day at the same place. However were talking an "affordable" spa day. Theres options in historical buildings that have been converted, options that include fine dinning etc and at 39 years old i have yet to visit any of those types of spa. At the spa i have gone to its £55 for a back, neck,arm and hand massage but £65 for the massage plus access to the facilities. I've never used the gym but i do like the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and pool so for an extra ten pounds its worth it and if you go with a friend or partner its a good way to spend the day.

I would not frequent spas as often as I do, but I'm a massage therapist. I am also awkward and anxious, but I love my job and do everything I can to make my client comfortable and as relaxed as possible. I understand spa days and massages aren't for everyone, and I hope you have a special way to unwind and give yourself some care regardless. Also, your spa turned out fantastic!

I used to work in 2 Spas, and it is a wonderful way to relax and de-stress. And if you never been to one, I usually advise that you should go just to get the total experience. It's expensive, but once you have your first massage or facial, you wouldn't care. In fact, you'll want to come back just to try more services or just to take in the peaceful atmosphere. And yes, I had massages and facials done in both Spas I worked in.

i go to the spa regularly :D i dont get massages (too expensive) but saunas are a must, at least once a month!! travelling always makes me aware of the fact that most countries dont have saunas the way germans do, and it blows my mind...

I have never been to a proper spa but my town's community pool has a couple of saunas (all different types) and I love them. My favourite is the one where there are herbs hung on the walls and it kind of smells like a forest. It's just so relaxing after swimming! Every Thursday they offer massages too, but I don't have those.

About spa, I'm not a spa person, but if i'm on vacations and hotel has a spa I really enjoy going there. Some aqua parks also often offer sauna or jacuzzi, at least in Poland.

I have been at several spa’s, you are not forced to be massaged, it isnt something i look forward to ”touching-wise” but my muscles are sore so i often need it. Spa usually are more for calm envirement - in sweden they often focus on several different pools and different saunas for more privacy and loads of cozy places to read and relax - it is more for relaxation and enjoyment than only focus on massages

I have been to a spa-ish one time, but i don't like massages (and those were extra $$$$) so i didn't do them. the heated pools are 10000/10, and i found out that i don't have the tolerance for the saunas but it was still fun (for a max of 2min, after that it was a struggle) lmao I'm in Canada and it was snowing that day so it was extra fun since the pools are all outdoors :D highly recommend to do it once in your life if you can afford it

I've been to a spa many a time, but have never gotten my nails done or a massage. I just go there to swim, relax and sauna. One thing I would have done differently based on my experience with spas is adding a shower room next to the sauna. Ps. A vlog sounds exciting! I would definitely watch that.
