The fish you caught was a “flier sunfish”, it’s a sunfish that’s related to crappie. They are native to South Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. They eat insects and live in low oxygenated, slow pools in creeks and typically grow from 4-7 inches in length at adulthood. Nice fish man ❤

Orangespotted Sunfish is the one I'm after. They are a bluegill hybrid. You can search up a picture of them they are really bright and beautiful. However hard to catch since they are so bright they are easy to spot and often eaten by other fish 😔. Really cool looking fish though.

I recently gotten into crappie fishing it is so fun!!! I fish Lake Okeechobee and they’re loaded here, sometimes it is hard to get a bite because it’s so pressured here but definitely worth the wait. But a fish I would love to catch would be a peacock bass, my friend tells me they put up a great fight and they get pretty big!! God bless you brother! A little tip for catching bluegills and catfish is using slim Jim’s especially during the winter months a tiny piece of slim Jim on a bluegill jig
