To be clear - scrap or used movement parts should never be used in a customer repair job. This video is for entertainment purposes and was really just an experiment on my part to see if it could be done. In this video we take a big bunch of scrap valjoux (ETA) 7750 watch parts to see if we can build a working and reasonably accurate Automatic Chronograph wristwatch. This project presented quite a few challenges, not least the amount of corrosion which needed to be dealt with. Can we get it working? If so., can it be accurate? Let’s see!

Excellent video, I loved every minute of it. Just serviced a Seiko 7009A movement as part of my 2nd restoration project and needed some new parts and also learning how the watch works was a huge challenge for me. Watching the master be able to build a Chronograph with old left over parts is way over my head. I was amazed you can just make parts to fit when you found an issue. Thumbs up from me 👍

Great video...I watched this & then immediately built my own watch, complete with twin-tourbillons, & all I used was a single discarded Bic pen, some old Hot Wheels, & a waffle-iron my Mom gave us. It was running 2-3 seconds fast a day, which was disappointing. So, of course, I dug some rocks out of our yard & incorporated a quartz oscillator. I know what you're thinking...."wait Scott, that's just some completely home-made Spring-Drive tech, like Grand Seiko uses". You'd be right, but I've modified my twin-tourbillons into a perpetually regenerating battery/power-source, which is theoretically impossible, by simply incorporating some old wire out of a Speak & Spell my parents bought for me in 1981. Now there's talk of making this watch I built into the official World's-Watch, from which the new coordinated universal time for the world will be based. There's even going to be a call in #, like in the old days of dialing POPCORN, & you'll be able to call in & actually hear the exact time, from the watch itself! I've accomplished this, of course, by sourcing parts from a Teddy Ruxpin talking bear that my parents bought for my little sister in 1986. You're all so very welcome....now we'll all know, for certain, what damn time it is. Scott Sherman
