This would be a cool buy for if folks pooled resources. Not many people would want to finance this on their own but if an HOA or group of families went in on it for their kids, that would be a cool addition to a neighborhood and encourage the kids and parents to spend more time together outdoors. Awesome review, great looking product!

It's obviously not for people who aren't well-off, and that's okay. It's a luxury item, a prestige item, but one with a lot of practical use. So a top-tier one in my book. Seems to be made in good faith by a serious guy. It's like the ultimate playground.

Totally agreed. Great quality and good attempt. I’m not sure I would want to workout heavy when I need to worry about my kids bumping into me and dropping a barbell on myself. And worst yet dropping on them. So body weight exercises would be all I would do there (assuming I would ever allocate that much budget for the item)

If I had a backyard this would be the thing I put back there. For someone that has kids something like this is why you drive to the other side of town. When you sell your house to another family that has kids, it'll be one of the things that pushes the value up, at least on an emotion level for those kids. Or when they're all teenagers playing various sports, that's the place that everyone goes to train. A lot of your indoor garage gym reviews get me to shrug my shoulders, but this outdoor one is the kind of thing that a community really needs and you build your own community out back.

Me and my kids Love our swingsesh. The owners are also great people and made the whole experience super smooth and were very accommodating. I had damage to my slide from the shipping process. I was not going to seek a replacement because it was just a scratch on the bottom of the slide and didn’t affect the performance. They saw on the delivery notes there was damage to the slide and reached out to me making sure everything was okay. Very cool move by swingsesh!

7:55 - all I see is a kid running down those stairs, failing to take a 90' turn, leaping off the platform and knocking their teeth out on that steel barbell sleeve - which will effectively be "invisible" to them relative to the bright blue of the uprights. I think everyone knew at least one kid growing up who "turned a corner" too fast and caught grandma's wingback chair at eye level, or some equivalent.
@YourFavoriteLibertarian9 ай бұрын
I love everything about this! I'd want it on a super cushiony matt with a horse stall style platform for the rack area. All black kinda like the owner footage. Then OD Green for the uprights. Other than the price, I'd be in! Super cool concept. I hope more options come out to drop the price via competition but the materials used don't really lend to the price coming down.

I'm not a father yet, but my wife and I hope to start after grad school. Seeing this actually looks pretty exciting. Now, we are not wealthy at all, so the price looks intimidating, but that's really the only true downside to me. If a person can afford it, this seems great, but I also think, for people in similar situations to me, it also provides an opportunity to plan and save up. Planning and saving for a wooden jungle gym seems a bit odd, but this seems like something that can be saved for to get when the child reaches X age. Maybe my thioughts on it are odd but that's how my mind is working. Any other soon-to-be parents or people considering parenthood please chime in, supporting or opposing, I'm curious.
@Peter-cx4ir9 ай бұрын
My main rack and all of my equipment is in my unfinished basement. The kids (3 & 6) always want to be down there when I’m lifting and love to climb on the rack. So I bought a slack line ninja course and a few extra items like a swing and small cargo net and screwed a few 2x4s across the floor joists and set up a pretty sick place for them to play and swing. Ended up being about $600 or so total just because of the shipping on the gymnastics mats. Now I get to lift and I can watch them play ~20ft away. And they can just come back to the gym when it’s their set. Great for winter time which is 6 months out of the year here. In the summer I’ll just put my cheap old squat rack in the garage and the kids will be outside on their wood play set. This is a cool concept I think just overpriced for people without insane disposable income. Especially when kids’ interests come and go on a whim. You don’t want to be the one going “go play on that, it cost a ton of money!” When they inevitably get bored of it.
@sdsith9 ай бұрын
@Peter-cx4ir now that is smart. It also sounds like it could be (relatively) easily adjusted if they need a "change of equipment". Normal childhood boredom is something I didn't even consider. Thank you very much for your thoughts and the ideas!

I’m kind of curious of who is the target audience for this. Like if this is your only gym then you have to deal with the downside of weather conditions plus you still have to buy the rest of your gym equipment like bars and plates and whatever other things you want like dumbbells and stuff. But do you store that in the garage and lug it around when you want to workout. That’s annoying. If you have a garage gym then like honestly are you really going to use it once the cool factor wears off or are you going to just wish you got your kids a proper playground. You have to be very rich, have a big yard, love training, and have kids that understand not to run up on you when you’re doing barbell movements. Also I feel like bench would be a headache. And you can probably get injured working out on uneven ground even it’s only a bit uneven. It’s a really cool idea but I don’t know who the target audience is.

A kid in my neighbourhood accidentally strangulated itself on such a rope, so watch out for your kids.
@rjm6569 ай бұрын
I'm the target market for this (young kids, and I can afford it), but I wouldn't buy it. The main problem I have is that metal isn't an ideal surface for children to play on. It gets hot in the summer, and it's really unforgiving on falls. Wood or plasti-wood composite handle heat better, and it's much softer. I also think the "longevity" aspect is overrated--kids play on these for a few years, then they outgrow them. I'd rather not stress about dumping the playset for a few bucks to the next person, than finding another niche buyer willing to value the investment here and willing to disassemble and reassemble this. I think it's a cool idea, but don't really like the execution.
@TeamSwingSesh9 ай бұрын
Our coating will meet or exceed wood and plastic in terms of thermal protection! We lived in Yuma Az so this was a specific design requirement from the beginning. Added benefit is that it doesn’t require maintenance and won’t give you splinters. The beauty of a SwingSesh is that it transitions nicely as kids grow out of swings and slides and transition to sports activities. They will have a natural advantage having watched mom and dad work out!

Even if they could afford one imagine getting orders to go overseas and then realize they're 1000lb over weight due to this monstrosity.
@Markinator839 ай бұрын

@thomasbrown73289 ай бұрын
Agreed- if you’re paying that much for a permanent piece make it something that the kids can keep using a least once they become teenagers. Make every section big enough for adult bodies to use. Make the swing chains longer- it’s fun as an adult to swing on those long swings. Make the dip bars flare out so different size bodies with different shoulder widths can use. Those tiny slides stop being fun for kids when they hit 7 years old or so. I like the fact the climbing rope and monkey bars are high enough for adults. Lastly orient the rope so kids can swing on it. Kids love to run straight at the rope- leap and grap it and then swing. This set up if they swing too far they’ll hit the main portion of the rig.
