This is amazing, I have also recently been wishing for more disability representation in the sims 4 since this most recent pack/the infant update. They included things like baby helmets and hearing aids, but I would love to see more inclusivity. I'm an occupational therapist, so this topic is really important to me. Thanks for sharing your story about your dad. ♡

I've been waiting, ever since I saw the Twitter sneak peak of the wheelchair, for you to post this. I am awestruck! I am going to get such great use of your wheelchair (I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user; my kid has been in a wheelchair since the age of 2...it'll be great having our daily life hacks in the game). And I love the idea of an elderly care facility for the game. Thank you!

Thank you for doing this, I am sure your dad is proud. And I think the word that you are looking for is cane--and as far as functionality, you can say like they used to, or when they were younger because some of us became disabled after an accident or due to illness.

Hey RG! I love when you include disability in your builds. As an English-speaker with a disability, we usually say "disabled" and "non disabled" instead of "normal" or "functioning." :) And the Sims did add hearing aids (yay)! But I don't think there is gameplay for them. I think they may add features over time, if people keeping asking for them.

Modders! You can also send your elderly sims her by using choose your roommate mod and have 1 playable elder and other roommates :)

That wheelchair was amazing! When I saw no cc within the first 5 secs, I was confused for a whole minute because I thought… what?! The wheelchair is not cc?! I really want more disabilities in the sims too! But I’m confused because I also thought from the trailer they MADE an elder Centre. Very sad to find out it wa da rec Centre (that doesn’t even have classes! Ugh!) all they have to do is give us a lot trait for elders. Modders can do it! They’ve given us gender specific lots. And the sims already has the code or basics, as university students, teens and even pets have specific lots traits that either restricts or allows more to show up on that lot. Heck, university has a setting for Foxbury commons or university housing. Just give us elder housing!

I think you are perfectly right that the sims have added hearing adds etc I do agree they should cover all disability they have covered all genders now but not all disability

about that 'working elevator' trick, I knew it from Girlseye, sadly she has quit this game some time ago, since the incident of representing lunar year with korean traditional clothes that sim team posted on twitter instead of traditional chinese clothes.

And the wheel chair would def need ramps and animations for ramps imagine if there was a functional ramp like the stairs that can wind around with little hills and landings and yes we need at least elevators and working escalators for malls they can just make it so that you can choose which level or even option to name floors like for hospitals but those are wishes we will all have to wait for 😂

@@RGeetect they would also have to fix the city living elevators so that the sims don’t spawn from there when you place an elevator also include blank shaft version so that not all elevators have to reach each floor or for an express elevator it would be tons of work and the sims team is probably not going to do it Im still waiting for working garage doors with all the cars hints they’ve been giving us

Oh, one more comment, I think they should put a bar in it if they are going to do that. Growing old isn't easy and if it won't interfere with my medications, I would share a drink or two with my friends. Plus, they won't have to drink and drive to go home. Sorry, not serious, I was joking about how the Sims add a bar to almost every pack. Also, could you please lower the ramp you have on the lot, it is too steep, or make it longer.
