This video took me 30 hours to make and maybe that doesn't sound like a lot (or maybe it does) because a lot of other youtubers take way longer to make videos but between school, extracurriculars, and having a deadline for this project, it was a lot.
For those just watching for fun, maybe this is a fun way to review or learn something idk (unless your not in school anymore I guess).
Concrete Farm Design: • Minecraft Elegance: In...
For my science teacher:
Time to skip to incase you don't want to watch the whole video - 21:43
Plant Cell:
Dark Green - Cell Wall: Helps support the cell's structure
Light Gray - Cell Membrane: Controls what enters and leaves the cell
Light Green/Lime - Cytoplasm: A gel-like substance in the cell that holds everything in place and it is the environment where everything happens
Light Blue - Large Central Vacuole: Storage for the cell; can store water and other materials
Purple/Magenta - Nucleus: This is where the DNA of the cell is contained
Dark Blue - Endoplasmic Reticulum: Makes proteins and transports materials throughout the cell
Cyan/Teal - Chloroplasts: The site of photosynthesis, where food is made
Orange - Mitochondria: The powerhouse of the cell, makes ATP (energy)
Yellow - Golgi: Packages and exports cell products
Pink - Lysosomes: Contains digestive enzymes, digestion system of cell
Red - Ribosomes: Site of protein synthesis, makes proteins
Bacteria Cell:
Dark Blue - Cell Wall: Helps support the cell's structure
Cyan/Teal - Cell Membrane: Controls what enters and leaves the cell
Light Blue - Cytoplasm: A gel-like substance in the cell that holds everything in place and it is the environment where everything happens
Yellow - Plasmids: Contains DNA different from the cell, helps with gene duplication/transfer; provides the bacteria cell an evolutionary advantage
Red - Ribosomes: Site of protein synthesis, makes proteins
Dark Gray Strands - Pili: Helps the cell attach to other surfaces and cells
Long Dark Gray Strand at Back of Cell - Flagella: Helps with locomotion; movement of the cell
(Not needed, but included)
Light Gray - Capsule: An extra protective layer for the cell
Purple - Nucleoid: Where most of the DNA of the cell is contained
If any of these are wrong, feel free to correct me.

Heyo! Great video! I'm a molecular biologist in cancer research and often relax with MC videos in the evening, so kinda unsurprising that this was recommended, and I am not sad that it was. I work with animal cells but a few notes anyways bcs science is awesome: - the main thing most schools miss when teaching about the cell is how enormously complex it atcually is. Thousands of super complex reactions happen every moment, cells divide, communicate, etc. - The cytoplazma is more of a congruence of many branches, not jelly. So, it's like an enormously complex pipe system, where the molecules move on them, not in them - this better describes the cytoplazma - The nucleus has its own membrane, just like the cell! This is important because it immediatly tells you that the molecule movement from and to the nucleus is very controlled. The main molecule moving through there is RNA - The nucleolus doesn't have a membrane, however. It is is just a thick, thick mass of DNA. Mostly important during cell division, tho, of course, there are many RNA that are transcribed only in the nucleolus. Tough to observe this process because of the thick DNA. Also, it is way smaller than in the model, tho every organelle is smaller, so that's just a side point :D - The endoplasmic reticulum ER doesn't transport things around the cell, that's what the cytoplazma (cytoskeleton) does. Instead, in ER the DNA information gets translated into information that the other cell organelles and other cells can understand similar to how smth in the computer translates 1s and 0s into characters and pixels (in the cell, the 1s and 0s are DNA bases and the pixels are proteins) - I only work with human cells but in my uni I had to learn about plants too. Making the chloroplast blue is super interesting. I know that you couldn't use green bcs it was the membrane but apart from blue-green algae (cyanobacteria, so totally not a plant), I don't think any plants chloroplast reflects blue light. There are some deep-sea algae (plants) that have red chloroplasts tho. Learning about chloroplasts was so much fun - how the literally catch and trap photons, then bounce them around until they have reduced their energy enough for the energy to be transfered to an electron. I know it sounds complex but for anyone who likes science - a joy-read! - As I said, I work with human cells, not bacteria but I believe that the plasmid function is to be a back-up to the big DNA thingy in case it gets damaged. They can also communicate using those + attack intruders. We use plasmids to genetically modify human cells if we want them to behave a little differently because plasmids have a great skill of modifying the DNA. Plasmids also themselves are circular DNA-like (and I believe that the bacteria DNA-thingy is circular as well, so not spahgetti but a loop) - Another (and arguably more common) way for cells to move is to move their cytoskeleton from one side of the cell to the other. There are some fun videos on YT with this. The tail-mcdude that some bacteria (and don't spermatozoids have the same or was it different?) have use up a lot of energy But, yeah, this is a great video, educational and entertaining enough. Hope you got the top grade! And cmon to science, we need more people working in this field :D

Wow thanks for the extra information, the functions were mostly explained as how the teacher taught it (which is towards a state-mandated test), or a quick search, that is why I probably got them a bit off. But anyways thanks for teaching me some extra stuff!

@@Named__ Ye, schools usually reduce everything one step too far. But mostly everything was spot on, I just tried to grow a little meat on the facts. Hopefully as interesting to some as it is to me :D

Hey man, good video but there's a rough and a smooth ER, you could just add buttons to one of them to make it a rough ER. Plant cells do not have lysosome unfortunately. But this is an awesome build and it looks great! Keep going man.

It wasn’t required to differentiate the two ERs, and also lysosomes are in plant cells? but thanks!

@jaycash4381
@jaycash4381 Ай бұрын
@@Named__ Plant cells do not have lysosomes, for a few reasons. First, plant cells have cell walls durable enough to keep foreign substances that lysosomes would typically digest out. Second, plant cells have vacuoles containing hydrolytic enzymes that function similarly to lysosomes in an animal cell.30 нояб. 2022 г.

really liked the idea, but i think i think it would perfom better if you spoke a bit more excited (not too much) and made especially the beginning (the gearing up) a bit more interesting. But of course thats only how I perceive it as a viewer and mainly it was just a science project. And overall I really liked the video.
