Thanks for featuring this set, Holly. I have both Pantasy Sherlock Holmes sets (the smaller one focuses on the interior "cut-away" view of apartment). For the first time since I became an AFOL 15 years ago I'm now open to brick brands other than Lego -- I'm no longer a "purist." Pantasy and Funwhole are not "fake/ripoff Lego" like Lepin. These companies offer original and licensed designs, quality bricks, reasonable prices. Funwhole includes lights and only prints (never stickers).
@SO-ym3zs2 ай бұрын
Well said. The same is true of Cobi. They offer outstanding-quality original and licensed sets and cover military themes Lego never will. Also, they only use prints.

Pantasy makes such good sets! I loved building this one. Their steampunk railway station is amazing, too. Funwhole and Pantasy are two of my go-to companies now, with Lego far off in the background because of their overpricing, stickers, and same-old, same-old designs. You get the same quality with these newer companies but much lower prices (plus lights and all prints with Funwhole).

I'm so glad to see more non-LAN KZbinrs branching out and doing other brands like Pantasy, Cobi, CaDA and FunWhole. Lego definitely needs more competition because they're cutting corners and charging way too much especially compared to what these others are doing
@SO-ym3zs2 ай бұрын
Very true. These other brands are releasing some outstanding sets, usually at vastly better prices than Lego, while Lego quality control keeps slipping, and their prices keep rising to ludicrous levels.
@jeffc48622 ай бұрын
I don't know about Lego cutting any corners that they haven't always been cutting (like stickers), but their prices have evolved to be obnoxious, and when it comes to modulars, they are now more focused on larger models in a 200.00+ price point, so that's another issues I've had these past few years. That said, I'm very happy to see the competition getting attention. I have the Sherlock Holmes set, as well as a variety of FunWhole models (including the Antique Store) and they are 100% comparable to Lego. I do hope the competition is a 'wake up call', but that won't happen until they realize their bottom line is being hurt which may take a few more years. Another thing worth noting is that Lego has been manufacturing sets in China, Malaysia, the Czech Republic and Mexico for year s now, so if anything, seeing the pricing of these 'off brands' is exposing just how much Lego has been marking up their products and why they have been as profitable as they've been.
