As someone who has worked sat at a desk for the last 25 years and suffering as a result of years of poor quality chairs and ergonomics, I’d say the chair and desk are items that you should not cheap out on. If you are an employee and your employer is not prepared to spend on decent chair and desk then you need to think carefully about changing job! I’ve built my own version of my dream office 3 times in different homes, and one thing that has always been important to me is cable management, it’s also a area that need not cost much and you can find creative solutions. The ergo monitor arm is amazing, I’ve used one for a year now and wish I’d learned about them sooner.

what's surprising to me is that the "ergonomic" office chair i got from my employers marketplace was so horrifically uncomfortable that i got rid of it after year, and actually the gaming chair i have now is probably the most comfy thing i've ever sat and slept on. i mean the price difference is one indication (£100 for the office chair and £400 for the autofull one) but my god finding your perfect chair does make such a difference to overall health

Hello! That's quite normal at meeting rooms or ballrooms, specially at hotels. They have sockets at floor and usually with a carpeted lid so it matches the rest of the floor. Strange that Arun kept it as it is.

Of all the spaces you've renovated thus far, this one has my favorite aesthetic. It's like those really upscale hotel lobbies that got renovated during the early 2000's when nordic minimalism mixed with natural elements and clean synthetic materials was a really popular style. I like it a lot and it should prove to be a tranquil place to work. Having said that, I probably would have gone for actual cubicles just to provide better separation of spaces. Open office designs sure LOOK great, and some people can function in them just fine, but several studies have found that having a dedicated and partially isolated workspace can improve productivity by reducing distractions. Personally, having worked in places with cubicles, I actively prefer them over an open concept office space. Of course, having an actual office to yourself will always be better, as shared workspaces are rarely ideal unless you are actively collaborating.

Great job on the house videos, probably one of the best content from you guys. It's a dream for me too and i share a really similar vision for it! About keyboards: Normal keyboard are AWFUL, they go against how we should position our hands, wrists and arms. Slip keyboards are a MUST have if you write even for 1 hour a day. Kinesis 360 advantage and Glove80 are the top Slip KBs. A least expensive option would be Alice Layout KBs (from keychron for example) About the mouse being wireless: The major benefit for a mouse being wireless is not dragging the weight of the cable around, super discomfortable . If you play FPS games like Counterstrike that you need to have perfect precision for a long period of time, you know exactly what i'm talking about
