I'm a cabinetmaker and the woodworking in this gave me... chills, gotta be honest. But hey - if it suits your needs, who cares about whether somebody else would do it in a different way. Crafting, be it in your spare time, as a hobby or as a job, is all about the process and the result and this seems to be satisfying all the needs it has to. Aside from that, would love to see more of this and will subscribe!

I have tons of these items in my attic right now as I was huge into Thomas when I was younger. Fun story: I remember when I was younger learning about lead paint and the recalls that the first edition Thomas trains had as they used lead paints. Several years later, I found my old Thomas stuff and noticed my first Thomas train was flaking paint bad. Then lots of things started to make sense to me lol. Probably ate some of those chips.

Maaaan, seeing this snatched me all the way back to 1999 as a kid in the Bay Area. There was a mall that had a dedicated Thomas the Tank Engine store and one of my earliest memories ever was standing in front of this EXACT layout. I didn't even get to play with it since there were so many other kids using the locomotives. I just watched in pure wonder. From that point on I was doomed to become a vehicle enthusiast. So I wanna say thanks ThomasCollectibles for bringing these precious memories back!

Watching him trying to build that table absolutely made my day. I guess woodworking, small-scale construction, etc. isn't as common of a skill as I thought.
@connorallgood0922 Жыл бұрын
Also just saying, glad he figured out that he needed more than 1 screw. You won't believe how many people don't think to have at least 2 nails/screws when building things. I do robotics so to keep pieces from rotating it's pretty important.

I was more of an ERTL guy growing up - my parents always said the wooden stuff was too expensive. But I remember going through that yearbook that we found somewhere and seeing that layout, as well as some of the random characters that received the wooden railway treatment that weren't in the TV series. A year or so later I found the Complete Collection book and most of the one-off characters made sense. Talk about a nostalgia blast! Great stuff!
