Have you tried making your trains heavier? I found that putting steel balls inside the back part of the car helps with keeping momentum.

3:59 you should have done a big gear on the motor connected to a small gear on the chain axle. the ratio would have probably made it fast enough

The motor doesn’t have enough torque to deal with the weight of it if I ratio it up
