On new years my friends and I went into a deep dive conversation on our nostalgia childhood games. The sims two was the first sims game I asked for and played myself (my aunt introduced me to the sims one and I watched her play it) and I brought up the sims barbecuing babies after we all had a couple of shots. It started a whole thing for the rest of the night which was even more funny when more friends came over later, sober, watching us laugh randomly about barbecued children. Also my friends, while they had played the sims was unaware of that tombstone cheat/ mod and I had to look up a video of the sim actually barbecuing and eating the baby.

Sims 2 build tip: you place a driveway extension inside the garage structure in order to place the garage door. That said, using the space for a bedroom and bathroom was a much better choice
@Eventide215 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it doesn't really make that too intuitive with naming it "extension". It's really just the indoor part of the driveway. I typically made my garages into a conversion anyway just like this. Like yeah it used to be a garage but now it's an ensuite or family/play room.

This is completely unrelated to the video, but I wanted to reach out on the off chance that you might see this and speak out, because a lot of people ignore us console players, but EA listens to you, at least somewhat. If you speak out and people start to motice this, they may just fix it. The most recent update has been the SECOND time this year that an update has completely changed, and completely wrecked the controls. We can't do some things we used to be able to (such as zoom in the free cam mode for our screenshots) because they have switched the triggers for switching between sims and toggling the time. Those controls have been the same for years, and while it may not be as difficult to adjust to for newer players, it is so difficult for veteran players like me who've been playing consistently for years. So many people have given feedback, after the sims summit update they wrecked the controls, and it wasnt until the most recent update that they even ACKNOWLEDGED it despite how outraged console simmers were. And it's because nobody seems to know, or even care about the fact that we can barely play the game anymore. They supposedly 'fixed' build mode but decided we can't have nice things and changed the controls to live mode. I've had friends playing on hyperspeed, notice a sim is hysterical and about to die, and in their struggle to pause time they just ended up switching between sims and their sim dies anyway, qhich likely wouldn't have happened otherwose. Because they changed the controls to 'match cas' but they should have just chabged the cas controls if they did that. They wouldn't do this kind of thing to PC players because they know that there would be outrage, but it really seems like they dont care about console players. We don't even have a sim guru that specifically works on the console version, and a lot of feedback comments on the thread where they ASKED FOR FEEDBACK, have been taken down on account of 'trolling'. (I saw a screenshot of one such post but it was absolutely valid) It's really sad to see them shoving us to the side like this. Again. You don't have to cover this if you see it Kayla, but even if only a few people see this I would be happy because at least word of these issues is somehow getting out there, even if it's not a lot of people.

I never got to play any of the sims games as a kid but this gives me so much joy to watch. Also this whole game and the style is giving my grandmas house in like 2006 😂in that absolute best way. Like I want to go hug her, make cookies, and watch Saturday morning cartoons.

The Sims 2 simulated the motion of water in its physics engine. No other game in the series did that.

its so funny to me seeing kayla going through the ts2 catalog and finding all the stuff in ts3, where i'm seeing some of the stuff she's pulling out like omg they updated that and brought it into 4 😂 so nostalgic 🥺

and i 100% want to be able to change the cabinet and counter color separately. and it'd be nice to have a cabinet or drawers option for counters like, y'know, a real life kitchen has

Showing my age here, but: I started simming on the first game. So for me, the advancements in build mode from the sims 1 to the sims 2 was unprecedented! Being able to rotate the camera freely was also a big deal. Many key features of this game come from the sims 2, imo.

Ngl, seeing this video brought back so much nostalgia 😭 I grew up playing sims 2 because my mom had all the expansions. So while I was really young when it came out (born in 2000 ✌️) it was the game of my childhood. Seeing the tile swatches really unlocked memories.

Watching this takes me back. It'd be cool to see simsie build a blue suburban in Sims1

obviously having create a style or something similar would be ideal for future sims updates and games, but just having that option to change the color of the cabinets and counter tops (plus some other in this game) separately would add more to the sims 4 so easily!

for the sims 5 i hope we get the graphics of sims 4 but the gameplay of sims 2 and the color wheel from sims 3. That would be superior edit: I would love to see you do this in the sims 3 instead of sims 2 my frist sims game was also sims 3 so it would be really nostalgic

And the terrain/lot placement options of The Sims 2&3, because there’s not really any reason to do a lot of terrain manipulation in 4.

My first ever playing The Sims was when I was about 9 years old. At my cousin's computer. Also tried Sims 1 once but I fell in love with the Sims 2 and horrific stuff happened when I played for the first time. 😂🙈 I totally agree with Kayla, the EA Team should make another stuff Pack with those epic contents we may miss from the former games. To return our favourite contents. As well as the social bunny. I absolutely loved it❣️

All that we wished for as children was basically a new Sims 2 with halftiles and placing furnature diagonally. Always loved all the little details. Like the firefighters rushing in when it burns, the police when someone broke into the house, the different cars picking you up for work , etc. The expansionpacks were so well planed and had everything we could imagine. BUT yes, the build mode in Sims 4 is so much better and really gives the game so much more dynamic and freedom.

Love seeing this, brings back memories. If you had Sims 1 you would really be frustrated with building in that one. But I liked to play with Ophelia and Gunther Goth. They had a huge house.

I was introduced to the sims when a college student who was a family friend of ours was renting the spare bedroom at our house for a very reduced rate, and she let me watch her play the sims 3 i was instantly obsessed but my parents wouldnt let me get it for several years because theyre a bit... opressively protective sometimes, and they didnt like that woohooing existed/were worried id get the wicked whims mod (or maybe they thought that was an automatically installed feature? im unclear on the specifics)

I loved the Sims 2 so much; thanks for this walk down memory lane, Lilsimsie. You're so young...you weren't born when the Sims 2 came out? I'm old, lol. I was already 36 when the Sims 1 came out, and 8 years old when Pong first came out. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm probably old enough to be your grandma, lol.

the older sims games had so much charm, but i’m also way into how sims 4 is trying to be less gendered and cis-het oriented
