A+ for industry and artfulness. I would hang a tented tarp above your stairwell entrance that could flood with heavy rain. Your house walls are not waterproof. You'd want to install channeled drainage around the perimeter.

Might be good to put a porch roof over the entry, sloped to properly shed the rain away from your foundation.

Well-sited dugout . So often I see them built with the wrong gradient of the surrounding land. One had a “ basement that had to be bailed out frequently, all because the builder did not pay attention to how the land sloped towards the dugout.
