Cloud is still good in that MU, mind, but k rool is generally better at contesting him and Cloud still needs to navigate Krown and Blunderbuss which can mess up his approaches. Not only that but Cloud is way easier for k rool to edge guard so he can't get too cocky. Falcon, on the other hand, massacres K Rool and shuts down pretty much his entire kit. Falcon can convert nearly any stray hit into a combo that kills; Fatality described it as making K Rool into a MvC2 character. He's way too fast to safely zone out because he can easily avoid projectiles and get in before k rool can recover, making playing a keep away game or controlling neutral basically impossible. K rool gets whiff punished extra hard. Not only that, falcon can edge guard k rool easily by dropping from ledge then doing reverse up b; normally most characters won't do this because k rool can go lower than they can safely drop down to contest, but since falcon's command grab Refreshes his up b he can do it ad nauseum. I'm a K Rool believer, and many of his bad match-ups are heavily exaggerated, but this match-up is just excruciating.

As someone who used to play K Rool before retiring, I always find the Falcon matchup kinda fun despite how horrible it is. I know K Rool is basically combo food for the matchup, but I also like Falcon a lot (which may explain). I think this matchup is basically a good starting point of how good your neutral and punish game as Falcon is or anyone who is trying to learn the character completely from scratch.

It's weird because professionally I can see why this would be a broken matchup for Falcon, but casually or picking up the character it's actually kind of challenging because you might not be use to chaining moves together or keeping the agression on. You also have to be good at baiting out moves or else you'll get destroyed by the armor. My roommate used to kill my Falcon with this character. I only one once but it felt like a gargantuan mental effort just to finally get that one win.

@@lcppproductions7910 K Rool - Falcon is actually one of my favorite matchups to watch, but it's for completely different reasons than say Falcon - Falco. I always find that matchup interesting at different levels of play. Top level, that matchup sucks for K Rool, but at low level, I could see this matchup being even. The reason why I said that K Rool is a good matchup to start with for learning Falcon (although not my most recommended) is that you not only practice the basics on how to move Falcon around, but you can also practice basic combos and kill confirms. Since K Rool has such a big hurtbox, it's more lenient for Falcon to get his combos right as opposed to someone like Pikachu (f*** this character). It may feel mentally hard at first since K Rool can be quite annoying if you don't know what to do against him, but he's very duable. K Rool is actually one of my favorite characters to fight in the whole game regardless of who I play, even the ditto.

It's easy to get combos off, but what makes the matchup "easy"/heavily in Falcon's favor is figuring out how to land combos into knee/dair/even bair offstage so that you can kill K-Rool without having to rack up damage to absurdly high percents.

Legit the only way K Rool can win this matchup is either if the Falcon player does not know what he's doing or the Kroc just heavily relies on cheese (which is still not easy to do considering his options are super telegraphed).
