I Came Face-to-Face With a Giant Manta Ray in Bali! Watch the Unbelievable Encounter Here!

We swam with a manta ray! It was incredible. We went on a boat tour to four different snorkeling spots on Nusa Penida Island just off the coast of Bali. We visited Manta Bay, Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay, and GT Point.
Usually, they see the manta rays at Manta Bay where the water is deep (about 15 meters (30 feet) deep and the visibility is awesome. We were disappointed to not see any there, but that is the way nature goes. When we got to Crystal Bay there was another boat snorkeling nearby when all of a sudden we heard them saying there was a manta ray. We hurried and jumped in and got to swim right with the manta ray. Dad even dove down and swam within a few feet of it to capture some pretty epic footage. Sam and Ben hurried behind and also caught some pretty awesome footage. It happened fast but was an experience we will never forget. It was especially cool to see since we tried to see the manta rays in the Philippines when we went scuba diving at the manta bowl. We were so happy we got to see one.
We enjoyed each of the four stops and had fun snorkeling. Each of the spots was deeper than usual, so we had to dive down to get good footage of the fish and coral. The boat ride was quite rough and made for a fun adventure. We enjoyed a good lunch when we were done and then we headed back to the mainland of Bali. That evening, we went to Wahaha to enjoy some delicious pork ribs, pork knuckles, and a pulled pork sandwich. It was really good food and fun to try some of what Bali is famous for. It was a fun and adventurous day!

I just don't get about people so stubbornly fixed to the comparison between those said destinations vs Bali. FYI Bali is very small if compared to said destinations. It's just a part of Indonesia, a country with 17,500s islands, 10,000 more islands than Philippines, over 6,5x than Philippines in land mass, try komodo islands or even better Raja Ampat islands, snorkeling and diving there will make you reconsider about that statement. Or just menjangan island in West Bali for closer place. From the comment I'm 100 percent sure, you're Filipino. Learn more about your neighbors sis, we never do smearing campaigns toward your country, we expected you guys do the same. Just stop that kind of smearing campaigns and false projections. Fun facts untill this day, we have 5 known differents spots to swim with whalesharks,which is triton bay, cendrawasih bay, Saleh bay, gorontalo and maratua islands nothing compared with the level of hypes that your people done in KZbin. We have 12 different species of tarsiers vs only 3 in Philippines. Guess your people always talking about oslob and donsol and Bohol. Your people are just...I don't know what to say. I'm sorry, but it just too often I see this kind of comments coming only from Philippines, very rare we see Malaysians ,or Thais or Viets have this kind of mentality.

@@simplyyank1119 Saya setuju. Indonesia bukan hanya Bali, banyak tempat wisata indah yang harus di kunjungi di Indonesia bahkan tempat tersebut tidak ditemukan di Thailand maupun Filipina. Contohnya Gunung Bromo, Gunung Rinjani, Kawah Ijen, Candi Borobudur, Danau Toba, Pulau Komodo dan Kepulauan Raja Ampat, dll.

Manta rays don't attack people,it stingless. The one that attacked Steve Erwin are stingrays, hence the name.

@@simplyyank1119 actually he wasn’t attacked. It was an accident. He was filming above the stingray and when the tail swished as it swam and hit him. Even if the manta ray doesn’t attack,the tail can still pierce a human body if you swim too close…just asking them to be careful and safe..

​@@tineetan5372 "Manta Rays are not dangerous. They are even harmless and can't hurt any diver or swimmer". Not my words but it is what divezone said about Facts and Informations regarding Manta Rays. But it's best to avoid contact for the good of the manta rays, don't touch them, just watch.
