This is a game by a guy who really understand VR. All the interactions are VR AF. He has zero interest in making another game and intends to just keep working on this for as long as he can and stays interested so there's likely plenty more content to come. One of the reasons he could implement the foveated rendering is because he's using Unreal and wasn't tied down by things like Unity's old pipeline that didn't support it. There is one weapon btw: a bow.

I believe a lot of devs just don't even ask Sony for help with eye tracked foveated rendering. I've heard before that Sony is keen to help devs, and then we get a bunch of games without eye tracked foveated rendering... Like.. Just call up Sony and ask for help ffs... Don't release games with reprojection when you don't have to. And pretty much no game that's come out on PSVR2 so far really has needed to rely on 60fps reprojected, they just skip the eye tracked foveation part and go the lazy route of just releasing a reprojected game. Saints and Sinners 2 looks better than 90% of games on PSVR2, and it's running 90fps and is smooth as hell with no dumb ghosting or anything. Just looks marvelous. If that game can run 90fps there's literally NO REASON why the indies can't get that same performance in their games. They're leaving so much potential performance increases totally untapped.

Awesome, similar to me, this ain't my cup of tea at all...but VR has a weird effect, I hate racing sims and survival, but got absolutely hooked on GT7 and Song in Smoke cause of the immersion. Will pick this up day one, im sold.

@InfiniteStates fair enough, u got far enough then to see what it brings, the first area for me was reallly the part that would get me, just so many mechanics and information thrown at u, but third go it clicked and by the time I was in area 3, it really had me hooked. Maybe give it another chance at one point, it became part of my top 5 VR games, and once you know how to sort your hunger out it becomes second nature. I would kill a bunch of creatures in easier areas, dry the meat, then toss them in the supplies sack so it carries into other areas, and not really have to think about hunting for food anymore. Plus later areas are filled with berries and mushrooms, so if ur exploring u r easily well fed.

Thankfully more developers are realising that Sony gave them the fidelity boosting Eye tracked rendering technology to make their games look and play as if they were running on high end PCVR hardware, it really does push the PSVR2 out in front when the developer chooses to use it, like the CyubeVR developer who says all VR headsets need this new technology that we have in the PSVR2.

@@RatsonCharade it’s fine. Basically there an issue with 60frames output and games running on Unreal Engine 4 VS 5. For example Red Matter 2 on PSVR2 runs at a solid 120fps in the PSVR2 headset but the social screen output is 30fps 🤷‍♂️

I feel like im taking crazy pills when it comes to this game. Every KZbinr gives it a glowing review yet it hasn't had a meaningful content update in years! Don't get me wrong the base game is a good start, but lately updates have been minor changes to textures or minor performance optimizations. There are still no, doors, water, biomes(besides the first two), survival mechanics, multiplayer, etc. I don't think this game gets a pass on account of it's "Potential" anymore after being this long in the oven.

I see where you’re coming from. However I would probably compare it more to wine than to bread (or something that goes in the oven). The game will only get better with time, and the solo developer works day and night on it. Sometimes foundations for future work must be made, and thus new content will be lacking. I definitely want some survival mechanics too though haha

I'm 600 hours in on PCVR since day 1. And I'm still not done. I recognise your opinions for the type of progress you expect. But then I also look at 57 releases over the years, and see that each one has brought the game forward without introducing a slew of hastily prepared updates, with bugs and bloat. Biomes - crystal caves were added underground. That counts in my book, though more would be nice. Survival mechanics are introduced with fall damage. Multiplayer, for sure. Will be huge. But fundamentals have to be in place first.

So I’ve had about 45 mins to an hour on it and I think I gonna get a refund and purchase again later on untill a couple issues have been fixed I keep getting green screen while running round and stick keep getting stuck in terrain and a few other things yeah it look great but I can’t play it like this at moment

It's probably because they developed with Unity and not Unreal. This guy used Unreal and it was a cake walk, then take Hellsweeper, it was in Unity and looked a mess. Its finally going to fix visuals in an upcoming patch, but the devs needed to completely change the engine to achieve.

LOOOOOL yeah buddy not happening. quest 3 is still about as strong as a mobile phone and graphically along with content wise this is just too much for standalone

@@Jkvrvids and it would still be wrong. red matter 2 was built completely and utterly in reference to quest 3s specs and used numerous workarounds to look the way it does. not only is it a very different game with barely any moving items on screen, but the render scale is miniscule in comparison to cyube VR. it's a very simple concept, sorry to bash your precious investment, but it's just not strong enough yet bud
