How are you people complaining about the prices?! They're only charging a dollar more than current hot wheels for cars that you can't even buy anymore. That's so awesome. I'm so jealous that you have something like that so close to you. I'd love to take a trip back in time like that and buy some of the hot wheels from my childhood.
@MikesHobbyPlanet9 ай бұрын
Yeah for the main lines I guess that's true. But $30 for one premium seems a little over the top I don't know. I'll have to go back and reevaluate. Obviously in my head I want to leave with multiple cars. That's why I asked for your opinion lol.
@DarkHorse9029 ай бұрын
@@MikesHobbyPlanetI dunno, if it's something that you really want, I don't think double the original retail is too bad. Especially when it's something that you'll never be able to buy again. Plus, no extra shipping fees like ebay and such. Definitely makes a person more picky though. Anything that you're second guessing about leaving behind though, you should definitely go back and get it. You'll regret it if you don't...

Awesome that you're going to start customizing Lisa and that both of you are going to start restoring. I like how you told Mike to MAKE the display you 2 saw in the 1st store. They are very easy to make. That store was amazing. Prices IMHO are fair when you consider the great shape of the cards, their age and that it is a small business that doesn't get the foot traffic that large corporate stores get. It costs those people a lot just to keep that place going and the prices are reasonable. That Barbie Corvette is worth $10 too. You are not going to just walk into a store and find that for a dollar, it's not that common, at least not in my area....I've never seen one, not on that card. You can probably haggle a little on the prices there, I'm sure they'd be happy to move stuff even for less than what they want.You definitely need to go there with TJ, I think he'd appreciate the hell out of that place. Great video Mike & Lisa. Support Small Businesses 🇺🇸👍🏾

I live outside the USA but I wanted to let you know that the loose yellow Honda Civic Si you found at [20:43] in this video and took home is actually a hard to find variation as it was a 2005 Walgreens battery pack exclusive promotion release only! In mint carded condition it is worth a lot of money. So might be worth looking into it's loose value before you make a custom out of it ; ) Thanks for the interesting video.

(Edited to provide more info) Mike I saw those 46 compartment clear cases to store loose cars are on sale today (Saturday) at Joann fabrics for a 60% plus discount if you order online for in-store pickup. They are called thread organizers. Some of those might look good on the shelves of your new filming area. Around 12:13 there’s an orange First Editions Ford Mustang Mach 1 that would be a decent buy if $3 since it’s a color variation you don’t see very often (as long as the car is not custom dyed), you can tell if the windows are tinted the same color as the car that it’s a custom. The blue Final Run Porsche 911 is cool but think I may have passed on that one too at that price eventhough been after that one for a while. Good pick up on that yellowish light orange w/stripes loose Honda Civic, I found one just like it in a big bin of loose cars just as you did.

Wow. Where to start?? First of all where is this store? The prices actually seem pretty reasonable for the age of some of those vehicles. The car with the white wheels may actually have glow in the dark wheels if im not mistaken. I think it may have been from a series called night burnerz. I so remember those candy cars. The sugar rush series. I remember hunting for those when they first came out in the late 90s. I believe they had 8 different ones. Butter finger, baby ruth, crunch, sweet tarts, 100 grand. Cant remember the rest. I think they also made a cereal series too. Count chocula, frankenberry, boo berry. The monster cereals that only come out around Halloween time now. I have to find the santa one Lisa found. That one was really cool! That barbie one wasnt too bad for $10 since I can't seem to find that one anywhere. Ok, i think i covered all the bases. 😂😂. Good finds! Good luck hunting!🚒🚛🚚🚙🚗🛻

Woah, such a great place! I would love to have a diecast shop that has a loose bin near me! Mine only sells sealed cars. I do feel like most of the price were high, but not like exagerated. My diecast shop sells a premium full set in protector for 50-60$ CAD, with the chase for 70-90$ CAD. Mainline are between 3 and 10$ CAD each. So I guess it is cheaper than what you are seeing, since your price are in US dollar which is more valuable right now. great video as always Mike 😁

This is the type of store that (1) you use as a catalog for what you'll buy at a tabletop diecast show and (2) that you pick out only the rare singles and rare sets like that MB Coca-Cola and pay on layaway. That way you don't lose the rare ones. Any "made in England by Lesney loose should be grabbed! Also those two Ferraris. My approach to loosies is stick with the heaviest castings w metal bases like those low profile Porsches and that Countach! They'll fly on the tracks. The big Diecast Show happens monthly in a mall that has a customizing/airbrush/wheel replacement store w a six lane drag race setup. That way you can try before you buy and get the fastest cars!

Must be aa hobby shop? That's a ton of Hot Wheels.5 dollars is a little too steep even for First editions. That's what I'm after, but I can get them at the swap for about 2.50 a car. 5 dollars is a bit more up my alley for first editions or new models that I can't find elsewhere, but I wouldn't pay that for a Dune Crusher from 2016. Even if it is the T.H. I could probably complete a lot of my Halloween series there. I'd pay 5 bucks for a fright cars two pack. Those old school Porsches were Corgi castings. Hot Wheels kept them in their lineup even after they bought out the company. In the end A hot wheels is worth what the buyer is willing to pay. There are some castings in my wish list that I would pay a little more for.
