So, 4 year and a half Pro Tools user here, doing Music and Audio Dubbing work. A couple of things to share here: 1. In the right upper part of the editing window, there's a button with an A-Z icon (that will enable more keyboard shortcuts) 2. A and S shortcuts for cutting waveform (A deletes the entire waveform from your selected point to the left, and S is the opposite) 2. When having the ruler on a vox track (for eg.) E will make your track to be full screen, so if you need to do something with the waveform that's small and critical, this will help, also holding Shift + Option and using scroll wheel, you can zoom even more into the waveform. 3. If you want to route multiple channels, or change track view mode, height, or anything that's track independent (even adding the same plugin to a bunch of channels), Hold Shift + Option and click for example the output of your track and selecting, let's say AUX 2, after clicking it, it will route all selected channels to that AUX 2. 4. When clicking a plugin insert, you can start to type the plugin name and it will filter it and get to it easier. 5. The internal dolby atmos renderer works like the external one (so the usage will be kinda the same) 6. Option + Shift + 3 will consolidate the selected region of audio / midi 7. In the left or right lower part of the editing window, there are for each, 1 arrow, the left side arrow will reveal all tracks, groups, folders (even hidden ones), the right side arrow will show all audio files, audio clips, midi clips and video. (In the right side, a useful shortcut is Command + Shift + U which will select all unused files and clips. then you can right click one of the selected file and you can remove or delete them, so it will help with cleanup of the project, perfect for archiving) 8. Holding shift and selecting a plugin from your plugin insert, it will open the gui and make it static, so if you open another plugin gui, it won't hide the other one (good for meters and stuff) 9. I know it's the last tip and it's the most important, configure pro tools in the preferences panel for your needs and likes (you can select a favourite eq and dynamics), BUT MUST HAVE copy files on import selected, so you won't ever deal with the "Missing Audio Files" tab, and also, configure auto backups the way you'd like. I've set mine to keep last 999 backups every 1 minute. Sadly, some times pro tools is unpredictable when it comes to crashes (It's not that often, but will catch u off guard). And a mention: Pro Tools on Apple Silicon is great, has great performance, but some plugins that were made native, have some graphical issues, like when having the plugin GUI opened, it will make feel pro tools laggy (the playback ruler will move with some lag, meters and other plugin windows will feel laggy). Once the GUI is closed, all is back to normal. I've seen this on Plugin Alliance plugins, and Vision 4X. Hope this comment will help everyone that reads it. Peace ✌

I think with “Gen Z’s MBOX” they’re just alluding to the fact that this product has been sort of rebooted for the modern era. The MBOX line has a long history dating back to the early 2000’s. The line was discontinued for a time, then revived with this product. I just jumped on the current deal myself. Hard to pass up considering I’d be buying that Pro Tools subscription anyway (I see it as a $300 value really, since I do subscribe).

I guess that makes sense!! I think it's a weird statement to make. But what do I know about marketing? haha Also, Congratulations!! I hope Avid ends up releasing more deals like this on new products.

It comes with a lifetime protools license? Sorry im uneducated on licensing terms.
@mountainlabelmusic9 күн бұрын
Yes, a single lifetime perpetual Pro Tools Studio license, as well as support and updates up to one year from purchase date. Worth noting, after a year, you won't be able to update to the latest version without purchasing a perpetual upgrade license.

Bro I have an issue am trying to play my protools audio over zoom while using the interface
@PsyckadeliOfficial6 ай бұрын
Are you going to use the MBOX for Atmos? Or what interface are you using for that?
@mountainlabelmusic6 ай бұрын
At the moment, it's just a glorified record player monitoring controller along with some other things in my room. I plan to record some vocals and play around with the control software. The Bluetooth connection is very handy to have to my Stereo speakers in my bedroom!!

its massive...and yet, would you feel comfortable using it on the go?

You loved my question but I'm not sure if that is confirmation that you would feel comfortable or not? Too unwieldy for a backpack?'

Pro Tools is nothing compare to your MBOX. At this price there is nothing even close to compare with not even Apollo that cost double that doesn't even have quarter of MBOX value! I am thinking of picking up one for myself too. Please let me know if you can use MBOX as stand alone mixer without connecting to computer. The rest is known, the very best audio interface ever!

It's a monster of a toy!! Not every interface has to be boring😉

@@mountainlabelmusic that is why is a gen z thing... I'am an old man. For me boring things are fun! 😂 Again, no offence, enjoy it. If we all liked the same thing, that would be really boring! 🤭

I’m an old man and love it. It’s far from a toy. There are plenty of less capable plain Jane offerings out there for the picking. 😎

@@tonyvalenti6614 I never said that it's a toy. I was talking only about the look... 😉

@@IcemanTheDj OK, but if your reason for buying audio gear is based upon looks, you’re likely missing out. 😉
