Creep? Heat deflection? Toughness and stength? Layer adhesion? How hygroscopic it is? This would all be super good info to have.

I got 4 rolls about a month ago and i'm switching to it and not buying PLA if possible, its been nice to work with so far.

I'm curious about the hydroscopic properties. Do I have to dry it in my filament dryer the same way I do with PLA, or is it better or worse? My house is around 33% humid all the time, and I don't get good results from PLA until I dry it down to 20% or lower.

Use actual pla not pla silk. Pla silk has tpu mixed in

You should definitely dry CoPE. I've had to dry all the rolls I've gotten so far.

I got a bunch of these without realizing they weren’t PLA. They print really well. Can you also make a matte version? It’s not too shiny to begin with but would be nice to have a completely matte version.

I just dropped a video review of it as well and included filament profiles for Bambu, QiDI, Snapmaker and Orca as my machines needed a bit of tweaking. The PLA default profiles worked but less than ideal.

At least you're honest.... Is it as safe to print as pla? Good for fish tanks? Ok for baby toys? How does it hold up in UV?
@Polymaker
@Polymaker 5 күн бұрын
If by safe you mean whether the fumes are breathable, we would suggest to not breath any fumes from CoPE nor PLA for that matter. We do not have the certification for fish tank nor baby toys use (same as PLA). And we did the UV test for PolyTerra PLA (which is on par with ASA) but not CoPE yet.

I hope you guys can formulate your Polyamide CoPa and Pa6-CF to have bridging and overhand properties like this. I spend close to $3000 per month on those filaments for our machinery parts.

I have a new machine to the market so I didn’t pick this up as we are still building profiles. 😅 But I was intrigued. I knew about this filament only sticks to itself and not to PLA.

@Liberty4Ever
@Liberty4Ever 7 күн бұрын
When you buy bottles of isopropyl alcohol, acetone, denatured ethanol, mineral spirits, paint stripper and hydrogen peroxide, those bottle are made of polyethylene. COPE is apparently polyethylene.

Okay, so incompatible with PLA, what about compatibility with PETG/TPU/ABS/ASA etc..? Very minimal information for already having been released months prior. Vapors when printing? UV resistance? Can a transparent version be released or is that not possible due to inherent pigmentations? We have ecosystems and need more info to see how this actually fits in, other than a support filament, as PETG can also do that for most, and a 'cheap PLA replacement that doesn't work with PLA' and isn't cheaper than cheap PLA. Lacks some wow factor. It's actually confusing to find CoPE on your site without the direct link because it's still hidden under 'experimental'. It's clear from some other comments here that others didn't even mean to order CoPE and thought it was normal PLA.
@Polymaker
@Polymaker 5 күн бұрын
It does stick well with PETG (we have not tested other materials yet) Yes it creates fumes when printing, we have not tested the UV resistance, we are currently not able to make a transparent version
@Roobotics
@Roobotics 5 күн бұрын
@Polymaker thank you for the added info, I had a strong suspension there was compatibility with (PE)TG and Co(PE) but only PLA was mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised though if the bond is best with PETG on CoPE. I'm guessing CoPE probably has too low a viscosity or boils at PETG temperatures.

I picked some up before Xmas and its okay. IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PLA. They were not clear about what it was at the time when "Panchroma" launched and I'm stuck with a mix of spools I thought were PLA due to how it was listed. It has been on sale since XMAS on the Polymaker site with a much better description.

I prefer PLA because it is biodegradable.
@Enixious99
@Enixious99 5 күн бұрын
It is important to note PLA is only biodegradable with a synthetic chemical process, as it is a common misconception even I only recently learned of. If you throw it away it is NOT biodegradable in a landfill. With that said there are companies (in the U.S.) that you can ship your filament to (failed prints, purge lines, etc) for free, except the cost of shipping lightweight plastic. The company I plan on sending mine to is PrinteriorDesigns. They offer big paid boxes for large volume, or you can sort and ship it on your own.
