I'd probably just budget to purchase 5-10 Bedard young guns, get them graded and stuff then until seasons end...check out prices and maybe deal one of each..graded non graded. His card will hit 1k faster then Matthews I think.

I’ve actually heard less packaging was part of one of the reasons for the change. Everything costs money (and costs rising) so to be able to put out Flagship at the same hobby box price point as other years they did the change which helps with less packaging $$ needed.

The Attack Zone is one of the best insert in this box to chase. Super clear nice card and is one per case hit. Too bad is not as popular as Kaboom insert like football=(

@@DannyConcepts I pulled the same Robertson…beautiful card. Right into a nice one-touch it went, even tho it’s only like a $30-$40 card. Plus Attacking Zone’s aren’t even close to being one per case…they are 1:1,172 packs. So they are a real special hit. 😊

Bedard will not be in series 1. I heard that upper deck announced that recent draftees would never be in series 1 anymore.

Upper deck will definitely apply for an exemption to have bedard young guns in series 1. I'd be awfully surprised if he isn't included in series 1. As far as the rumors go, until upper deck puts out an official statement about bedard young guns, I won't even bother wasting my time listening to rumors.

By cutting the number of packs in half, it’ll effect a lot of young collectors and people on a budget. Some people don’t have the funds to spend $150 on a hobby box, but are willing to pay $6-$7 for a few loose packs to chase ygs and the hobby exclusive cards. This new format will hurt a lot of people, 12 packs per box will mean double the price for a single loose hobby pack, that’ll hurt the entry level collectors.

@@MarspeedCars no he won’t, they print months ahead, the printers need photos and NHLPA agreement before producing a card. Laffy was a clause since Covid pushed the league back. They also want to not have a photo shoot Bedard YG so they’re not pushing him to S1 like they did with Laffy.

@@zeeree11 I’m actually look forward to the S1 crop, the signings of Marco Kasper and other prospects to grab a couple games in the NHL will help boost the checklist but agreed Bedard would’ve put S1 into the stratosphere. I think they also want to not have another “Laffy Photoshoot YG situation”
