I Can’t Believe This Beautiful Green Ammonite Surprise!

Here is an ammonite, from the”green ammonite,” beds at Lyme Regis! - found at low tide. I worked a lot on it, to give it a fine polish! I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide as well! Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving.The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. That’s a very good question 🙋‍♂️. I’ve found a very large ammonite 65cm across, that sort of size whole ammonite is pretty rare. That’s in the foster collection in Cardiff Museum
