Aaron wrote this on his way to rehab... leaving his wife and 3 daughters behind. He is criminally underrated, IMO. His voice is unreal.

I've always felt that even more than his unbelievable voice, Aaron Lewis's biggest talent/gift, is to make you feel the song. He's sings with a passion that few can match.

Honestly, for me, Chris Stapleton is the only other male singer that can hit me like Aaron does... he's got something special in his heart that you can feel
@chrisb351988 ай бұрын
@@txtamaman - RIght there with you....Stapleton is something special and evokes emotions in the same way. I tend to gravitate to those types of singers, regardless of genre. Layne Staley, Aaron Lewis, Myles Kennedy, Chris Cornell, Chris Stapleton....but even artists like Eminem too.

He actually wrote this song to his wife while in rehab. Him and the people he was in rehab with wrote it. Love it. I been there and unfortunately still in it to this day. Pray I’m able to beat it one day. Just existing for years sucks cause I lost everything that meant something. Wife, kids, myself. There’s got to be more to life than this.18 years of it and I’m beyond tired. Most don’t understand. I work everyday of my life since 12 years old and I’m 40 with nothing much to show and I despise what’s in me that causes this to continue

I've always felt that good music is good music and it doesn't matter what genre it's in. When you have someone sing a song like this and you know, they would be singing this song weather you were listening to them or not because it matters to them, that's "Making Music". Excellent song and a great evaluation of this song.

I have been a fan of Aaron for years. It is mostly almost emotional! I have seen him in concert many many ti,e!
@wildkard772 жыл бұрын
Ya, Aaron wrote this song while in rehab. Said he was originally told he would be able to take his guitar with him when he went in. When he got there, they told him he couldn't have it with him because there was a chance his guitar and focus on his music would distract him from the healing and the "demons" he was there for. So he wrote this song while in there. He opted to bust it out while on a bus with the other patients in route to a "field trip" of some sort. He said it was an an emotional moment on that ride with a bunch of grown men tearing up. Reached a lot of people in the right way and in the right crowd. We've seen him over 20x at this point. since the first time I heard it, it hit me deep and hard. Still does. Means a lot. Love the show, cheers!

If you like this, you will love his other solo stuff! He has perfect drinking songs.... watch some of his live concerts like the one in England to hear him really sing. AFL intentionally writes vaguely so listeners can feel it’s for them any number of ways. This song could appeal to an oil rig worker, a trucker, a person in rehab, an athlete or any number of scenarios, and most importantly their spouse and loved one. But for me it’s most appealing to think it’s for a soldier going on deployment. It has to be a powerful song for our veterans.

Aaron Lewis was also lead vocals for the rock band “Staind”, check out their songs “It’s Been Awhile” and Something To Remind You”. Very talented artist, when he left Staind to go out on his own he did country music, he’s so versatile. His first album on his own was called Town Line, you should check out “Tangled Up In You” and “Country Boy”. The song Country Boy had George Jones, Charlie Daniels and The Charlie Daniels Band on it.
