This man was brought in and immediately had to deal with a totally disfunctional Club. Faced player power leading to all sorts of indiscipline. Due to the Club's incompetence a lot of deadwood bang average players were not sold to get replaced by better players. The Club's incompetent officials kept signing players far above their market value (even when Ten Hag arrived). Despite all these distractions, he finished third in the EPL in his first season, won a Cup (people call it Mickey Mouse Cup but it's a Cup!), got to the Final of the FA Cup and lost to the best team in England. Injuries decimated his second season and things fell off. He definitely made mistakes. The players available didn't seem to be playing with a style or pattern (not sure if a pattern was possible with bang average players like Maguire, Martial, Lindelof, Tominay etc). When Arteta got to Arsenal, he finished 8th, 8th and 5th in consecutive seasons before competing with City for the EPL Title. He's had a far better "behind the scenes officials" than Ten Hag since he arrived at Arsenal. Same thing goes for Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp when they arrived at the Etihad and Anfield. They didn't win anything in their first season. Now the Press and a number of United fans want Ten Hag sacked. Those United fans are not considering the fact that sacking Ten Hag will cost United about £9 Million. They have forgotten one of the major problems which is "player power". Have they asked themselves why every Manager after Ferguson struggled? It's happening again. The Press asked Ten Hag why Sancho was not in the squad away to Arsenal. He said that he hasn't trained well enough. Sancho behaved like a spoilt brat calling his Manager a liar. Let's not forget that he's had attitude issues at City and Dortmund before coming to United. Just because he's going to play in a UCL Final (as if he single handedly took Dortmund to the Final), it's now Ten Hag that's to blame concerning the issue. If Sancho had behaved same way if Ferguson was Manager he would have been kicked out of the Club! Whether Ten Hag is sacked or not Sancho should NEVER play again for United! A Boss is a Boss no matter what. I'm not particular about Ten Hag staying. I'm only saying that "player power" MUST be stopped at United if the Club wants to compete for Titles and Cups again.

It kind of seems like Sky intentionally held onto the information until after the FA Cup press conference, so that other reporters wouldn't have a chance to ask him about it, so that it would cause more hype and unrest at United. Because reporters thrive on chaos, they'll happily send clubs and teams spiralling if they can manage it. In essence, if there isn't any news they will try to make news, and if they have news they'll attempt to get the most value out of it. I think this is pretty clear from how they structured this article, in how they mention McKenna and Chelsea right at the beginning, to make it look like it was reactionary from United, and then they just sneak the "last week" in at the end of the article when everybody has already made up their minds.

Problem is not in manager. MUFC changed several coaches but the same problems. We need to get rid of players who don't perform.

I think INEOS want Mckenna because he won't ask any questions or complain about signings which ETH, De Zerbi, Pch or Tuchel would always question. That is why McKenna became the ideal option which I hope they know what they are doing because it can blow in their face....

This “reporting” from the media should be illegal. It’s creating division in this club right before an important game. Hated. Adored. Never ignored.

It disgusting attitude, if this proves to be true then i question INEOs suitability to manage our club. Dragging us through the mud and treating him with absolute disrespect.

The leaks aren't good in days before FA Cup Final but there's a decent chance the information came from outside United. I think INEOS have decided ten Hag isn't their man, the performance this season has been awful in underlying stats and there are questions as to how much ten Hag has been at fault for injury problems. Think bringing in someone like McKenna, who will be happy to coach, while we sort out and reorganise the recruitment side of things makes a lot of sense. McKenna's playing style presumably more in keeping with the style the new technical director/DoF want to implement and build a squad for. If INEOS are going for a reset, I want them to go all in 100% on their plan and not tiptoe around things because of a few days of bad publicity.

What’s more important the wings or the middle? United needs to lock down the middle or else they will be destroyed.

Rumour has it, Ten Hag was warned about taking the Manchester United job by Van Gaal. To be honest, in my opinion it sounds like an unwise business decision to sack Ten Hag. Isn't it true that MU needs to pay Ten Hag millions if he were to be sacked now? That's money for nothing, no value at all. And they still have to hire a new manager. Why not let Ten Hag do his job until the end of his contract next year and then decide? Just my 2 cents.

As always, when other teams are going for Hansi Flick, united is going for Mckenna. Just like they went for a director of football as a manager when the likes of Luis Enrique were available. This club is something 😮

this is the current situation of ManU: hire an upcoming coach/hire someone hastily, make good players look bad, then blame each other. Then when everything is over the cycle continues. Why not give ETH one more season, spend wise on the transfer market and see. Instead, just continue the old cycle which has plagued the club since 2015

Great video Sam. We keep going through this cycle and we keep being a laughingstock. Ten Hag may not be the answer, but this whole situation absolutely isn’t the answer. We won’t be seeing a proper title challenge for many MANY years until the cycle finally stops

The fact that we the fans are talking about it allows the media to continue tear this club down 2 seasons one excellent and one bad BASE ON circumstances and if ineos sacks him it will show they are no better than the glazers can’t sack a coach for a set back into a rebuilding process it has to be expected it’s not like we have this marvelous squad if they sack him I feel I would be thinking of retiring as a United fan cause this cycle will never end and very disappointed in RIO VERY but hey I’m just a nobody just a fan

I like the idea of a young almost unknown manager coming to United. We’ve already tried well known/ established managers and it hasn’t worked out. McKenna has previously worked with united’s the youth team and both mourinho and ole rated him highly. He took Ipswich from the first division to championship now their in the pl next season… I think ETH has had his chance yes there’s been injuries but getting beat by the likes of Bournemouth 3-0 at OT and nearly bottling a 3-0 lead to Coventry is just a couple of many examples showing how poor we’ve been this season. Yes certain players aren’t good enough but c’mon we’ve been outplayed by nearly every team this season and he’s changed nothing tactically.

Surely you would sit down with the manager for a debrief and listen to his explanation and plan for the future? It might take a whole day and a week of prep for the manager so has to be after the final. Then you decide. If it doesn’t convince then sack him, but only if you have someone else who does convince you with his plan. You cannot have a serious process led decision or even learn for the future without doing a proper debrief first. You might still sack him but you learn what the problems are.
