I'm honestly so surprised that this place isn't a famous travel destination yet. It was so incredibly beautiful and it felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. Amami was a dream. Part 2 coming soon!

I don't remember how I ended up on your channel yesterday, but thanks to the youtube gods for it!!. I've dreamed about going to Japan all my life and watching your videos gives me this weird happiness that I cannot describe. I love the japanese culture, but it somehow gets better through your lense. Keep it up Hannah!!. I love your videos (amazing editing BTW), your attitude, you sense of humor and that "something" you have. A big hug from the other side of the World. (Dom. Rep.)

Love Amami. Was the first trip I took when I was a JET in Kagoshima. I'm torn about this video because on the one hand, it's good for Amami if more tourists go there to visit but in the other hand I don't want it to be over run by tourism like a great many of the amazing places in Japan!

Do you plan on living in Japan long term or is it strictly dependent on your job?

@gioru6275
@gioru6275 6 жыл бұрын
As a Japanese, I think "it doesn't feel like Japan" is correct. Because I thought same thing. Japan is actually about 70% forest/mountains, but rain forest and mangrove forest are pretty rare. If you want to see that you need to go to remote southern island. Amami island is one of them. So I have never seen mangrove forest before.
@zam023
@zam023 6 жыл бұрын
You will not find mangrove and rain forest in the temperate climate of mainland Japan. Only Okinawa and other islands in the south have tropical climate to support those type of vegetation.

Noice! Would love to experience driving on the left hand side. Fun fact visiting my bestest friends in Singapore for the first time since i knew i was in great hands did not research anything. After coming out if the airport they said we were getting on a taxi...they just waited for me to open the drivers side door and laughed out loud when i realized it was a left sided country! Poor driver was so shocked did not speak the entire ride =j
