It took me 5 years living out of Ireland to realise how beautiful our little island is, so much on our doorstep and yet we don’t realise. I moved home just before covid, the travel bans made me rediscover the west coast. It’s incredible ☘️

All around the coast of Ireland the scenery everywhere is amazing & peaceful. Nothing like getting away from the hectic city life. Gives us much greater perspective on life & what's truly important. Plus the blast of fresh air near the ocean is something else. Your only getting a wee taste of the County's over 5 days. You could of easily of seen more in Cork, kerry & Dublin by doing 5 days in one place. But as a first time here glad ya enjoyed your visit.

I enjoyed your video, thanks for it. Just a couple of points to add - politically most Irish people consider the whole island as one country - ie there is no 'Republic' and 'Northern' - it's just Ireland. You completed a loop of the Southern half of the country - a similar loop for the Northern half would be roughly Dublin - Belfast - Antrim coast- Derry - Donegal - Sligo- Galway - Dublin

The gift of the gab isnt about how much you talk but more about what you say it or how you say it. The type of person who can talk themselves out of trouble be it through charm, humour or sincerity has the gift of the gab. For an easy day trip out of Dublin that doesnt involve lots of driving I would suggest the Powerscourt Estate at the foot of the Wicklow mountains. It is home to the No.3 top garden in the world. Beside it is the Powerscourt waterfall which at 400ft is the highest in Ireland. Further on is Glendalough with its famous 6th century church and round tower which was a refuge from viking attacks. Then the road out of Glendalough leads to Sallys Gap which overlooks the Guinness lake. This lake and the land was owned by the Guinness family and the lake looks like a pint of Guinness. The Sally gap is so rustic and barren at the top of the Wicklow mountains its hard to believe your only an hour from Dublin city centre. Co. Wicklow is also known as the garden of Ireland.

Here's a thought, we chose a small village between Cork and Limerick as a base for a week. The village was Bruff . We came as strangers , whilst there we were treated like long lost family. Everything is close in South African terms. I use to be a tour guide before i retired. Every Irish tourist told me you must see Ireland before you die. In 2017 i was in ICU with a massive pulmonary embolism. The doctor told me i kept telling himni can't die, i haven't been to Ireland yet. 6 months later a week in self catering in Dublin, a week in Bruff and a week in Lusk.

Hi There, Irish viewer here. I see from the footage that you did go through Dingle. For any visitors with a short visiting time, I'd recommend you drive the Dingle Penninsula rather than the Ring of Kerry. The Ring of Kerry is looooong, too much time in the car. Dingle Penninsula shorter so you can spend more time exploring. Sorry about the weather. We have had the Wettest Summer ever. Climate change bringing us more rain, like we needed it!!!

As a Cork person, Cork city probably isn't the best part of Cork especially depending where you are staying!! I'm from Kinsale and its so lovely, as is West Cork (though locals will tell you that west cork only begins at Clonakilty / Rosscarbery) - in my opinion some of the most beautiful spots in the country!! Cork city has its charms and its spots but you need to know them - the Marina Market is an amazing indoor food market with such good spots you should definitely go to if you ever come back! UCC the university has some gorgeous buildings and greenery on its campus too. I know you were trying to fit as much in as possible in 5 days but I think the main thing that's nice about Ireland is the scenery and finding the secret spots which you need more time in a place!! Glad you enjoyed it in general though and Galway is honestly an amazing city, one of my favourite places as a Cork gal!!

Beara is so often overlooked its baffling... there's nowhere else quite like it. People doing west Cork normally just go from Kinsale to Mizen head or the sheeps head but IMO from a road trip perspective Beara is the best in the country. Also Comparing Cork to Killarney is chalk and cheese, one is an industrial port city, the other is a town whose industry is tourism, lol. Clonakilty or Kinsale would be a fairer comparison.
