Libyans hate you. Don't try. They are all proud of being sons of "omar al mukhtar" who defeated italians and was hanged by them, omar al mukhtar the conqueror of italians is in the identity of every libyan. and they have about that the most famous libyan film ever and one of the most famous films in arab world called "Lion of the Desert", a film in official arabic. Libyans call themselves أحفاد عمر المختار what means Descendants of Omar Al-Mukhtar This is the most famous national libyan slogan ever, known everywhere and libyans are excessively proud of that. It's the most famous saying in libyan patriotism. You find it everywhere in peoples' mind, in youtube, in tv, in social media etc Libyan pride is being mujahideen against Italians. They also call themselves أحفاد المجاهدين descendants of mujahideen and the most typical libyan mujahid is Omar al Mukhtar!

I'm quite surprised that someone is interested in Libya and actually visited despite the war. That's brave and dangerous so I'm happy you are safe! I'm Libyan and not a lot of tourists visit. I grew up in the UK just recently came back to my home country and I dont like it much here, but what I can say is that Libya is beautiful, yes there are areas that don't look as good but the areas with a lot of history are amazing. The nature here is something else and people are genuinely nice (thank you for not making fun of their english and for respecting the culture!) There is so much history that I dont know about myself and a lot of places I haven't seen yet despite being Libyan! The war did ruin Libya tho so hopefully, Insha Allah it ends soon and my country is safe again. Thank you for visiting and making videos like these. Keep going I enjoy watching them! Good luck ❤

Architecture is and will always be a political statement of the current context. Roman architecture is used as an antiquity for our current post modernist architecture. The very fundamentals of our new buildings are rooted in ancient civilizations, it's never forgotten. Post modernism is a political statement as well; especially in colonized countries. It is a visual radical sociopolitical shift from colonialism and it's meant to represent a unified, open experience.
