Love the Pride coin 😊 fun fact: my first Benjamin Bunny coin was actually a rotation error. Thankfully I still have it, didn’t give it away 😅 didn’t start paying attention to commemorative coins until my dad told me about his small collection, so I started taking pics of coins I found at work to send to him and ask if he needed it. Sent him the Benjamin Bunny pic, he said he had one so I kept it instead. This was before I had any real knowledge about collecting, was just keeping the ones I’d found in a little piggy bank and didn’t know about rotation errors. Found it odd that the Benjamin Bunny design seemed “squint”, surely it made more sense for it to be this way instead of that way? Then I learned more, and it wasn’t until a while later that I realised and I just **gasp** 😂

The Pride 50p was another which my Post Mistress Tracy reserved for me - and living close to Brighton it is especially of interest. The Gibraltar coin was also lovely. happy Xmas to one and all out there - make it peaceful and fun.

The lady in the post office by me keeps them back for me too so every week when I go down to get my gas & electric I swap her my normal 50p for her ‘special’ 50ps 😂 I hit the jackpot 3 weeks ago I had 4 of the new King Charles ones (I gave 3 away though and kept 1 for myself (she said she only got them in that morning so the 4 she gave me are like literally brand new not a mark/scratch on them 😊 I know they will be everywhere in no time it just made my day (I’m sad like that the smallest of things make me happy) 😂

Thankyou Christopher. I know nothing about coins and I'm lucky if they'll accept my change as legal tender... (are they round now or 12 sided and why don't they tell me when they're no longer valid?) I had absolutely no idea there were so many variations as to have a complete book for one type of coin. I'm honestly not sure if I found that interesting or excrutiating, to know, but I did watch your video all the way through and quite liked it. Presumably the book is worth something if you fill it???.... but then they'll bring out another one and mess up your pattern I expect and it will all be worthless once more.

Some of them are worth a whole lot more for example ‘Kew gardens’ is like £150 & more depending on how badly the person wants it a few of the Olympic ones are worth more than face value (£10-£50) mostly & then u have the £2 coins 🪙 as well and also if a couple has an error or misprint they are worth money, I’m new to all this but I think these guys don’t really do it for the money it’s a hobby more than anything if u look on Google it tells u what 50ps are rare it’s when they have a low mintage the more they are worth 😊

A few weeks ago, getting bags of change for the tills at work, I was handed two sealed bags of Pride 50p’s! It’s been nice to hand them out as change, for the reasons you mentioned in the video about marking our steps forward as a society :) Well done on your find, Christopher!

Nice touch Christopher, it means a lot to hear someone acknowledge how far we've come as a country with Pride & LGBT rights. It is incidentally a beautiful design and I would love to have the Piedfort colour version. I found my first one in circulation at the train station last week and felt genuinely happy that the queen's parting left us with a lovely commemorative that showed all in her society are worthy of love 🌈

New to collecting coins & more recently going to the Royal Mint, I wondered if possible you could explain something, as an example the recent Harry Potter or hogwarts express 50p, what is the difference between the strike your own and the £11 version in the shop? my asking this is when you go regularly for strike your owns considering the price of tour & also then the £7.50 to be able to do that, I don’t understand why ultimately you are paying more to strike your own, is it to do with quality? Or you paying more for the experience? Many thanks

pride is the only one i've not found in circulation yet. once the privy marked memorial sets are sent, will royal mint tell every buyer how many are made, orders end on 31st, i ordered it.
