I think there's a misconception here: 1. We are not saying that there aren't experiences where individuals have met people who could have said disparaging things about a guy being an asian. We're saying it's DUMB to think that's a universal truth for all ASIAN MEN because it is not. Half the people that you love in JK are with people outside of their ethnicities minus me. You may live in that area where it's not culturally diverse but YOUR dating and getting a woman to find you attracted outside of your ethnicity is a weird obsession and it doesn't mean it's IMPOSSIBLE. 2. The fact that you looked at another asian American podcast that had a similar topic as FUCKING BROAD AS THIS and you think it's stolen content is RIDICULOUS. That means JKNEWS has been stealing content from news sources since day 1 and nobody should talk about GENERAL TOPICS that everyone talks about . Fuck outta here with that dumb shit. If anything... we are throwing shade LOL AHHAHA... Geniusbrain fans already know wussup. 3. If you have had women say this shit to you... blame the individual and not the gender. You also have an ability to change the perception of people by how you behave and handle those situations. They don't know about how dope Asian Dick is... It's magical. It's like Harry potter shit... not everyone knows how to get to Hogwarts but you just gotta show them to the train station to teach them how to get in baby.

DavidSo Good points about taking your destiny in your own hands. Same can be said for those arguing that systemic racism exists. Man up and get over it. Like you said, it’s not a universal truth that all people of color are disadvantaged. There’s no systemic racism in this country, so folks should stop complaining about white privilege. Asian males need to stop bitching about not getting women.

While I agree that it's mainly a personality and insecurity issue, in my experience with dating non-Asian women, I've come to notice slight passive microaggressions where it sort of makes me double back a little bit. I've dated people where some had said "to be honest, I've never dated an Asian guy before", and when I've asked why, it's because they thought Asian men were a little nerdy. Even on dating apps, I've had a few women make inappropriate and racist jokes about Asian stereotypes (we all know the one). For me, it's really case by case cause it really depends on the person you're dating and their perception of Asian men, and it's not universal across the board that all women think this way. However, I do think even with online dating, this gets harder to break past whatever invisible barrier exists, because you're not able to land a solid first impression since there's no interaction in person. Like, I believe I can handle myself socially but online dating is a whole other beast in itself, where matching is primarily a surface level and superficial means of meeting people. That's why, I found that I've had more luck meeting new people outside of the apps and actually interacting with folks face to face.
@lawfence11
@lawfence11 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah with online dating, little things become amplified in importance. The algorithm will tank your profile if you're not playing into your demographic at least a little bit. Swipe right on the koreaboos/weaboos, swipe left on white girls with only white friends, you increase your match to swipe ratio, and then the app presents your profile to more people, and then you get more matches. Hopefully one of those people you actually get along with and meet up in person. You can't internalize the game because it doesn't matter in real life.

I am a black man. My ex girlfriend is black and has a preference for white, Latinos, and Arab men. Through being myself and getting her to laugh and be comfortable around me, she gained feelings for me. Loving each other was not based on race, we gained attraction towards each other through communications.
@arvoplexbeats

100% agree with everything here. Just my two cents. I'm Korean American from LA. I know there are dudes out there that keep using their Asian background as the thing that holds them back. They end up playing up the stereotypes they hated in the first place. It's 100% insecurities of themselves. You gotta just know how to be comfortable and not give a f. I've dated attractive women of different backgrounds, black, latino, etc. (not white tho) and I know other Asian dudes that have done it too. I've had moments where women tell me they never even considered Asian men, but that changed. It's all about your energy. It's really not that big of a deal at all. Just do you and stop using your race as the problem. And also stop putting white women so damn high on the pedestal. There are other women out there too that are extremely beautiful. Stop focusing so much on race.

You guys grew up in an asian centric state. You guys are in Cali. Growing up in the East Coast, it wasn't too much of a problem - although i dated very few white women - but I moved to the south for a job and you guys have obviously not experienced it. A majority of the women say they want a "country listen bumpkin" and only want white men. I'm a fairly good looking guy and it's dry for me but whenever I go back to the east coast, it gets back to normal. There is a lot of discrimination and you guys just haven't experienced it cause you live in the asian bubble. Even Simu Liu talked about it in his interview in The Social.

As much I enjoy other episodes, these guys just sound like they haven’t gone on enough dates with non Asian women. Although I do agree that it is not an Asian problem and more of an insecurity, low self esteem problem, I’ve had countless women tell me I am attractive for an Asian guy but they would never date Asians. You can now say shit like “oh it’s okay you don’t want to date that type of woman anyways” which is true, but that doesn’t invalidate the fact that this type of prejudice is more rampant towards Asian men. This is an objective truth in westernized society which is slowly becoming better with more Asians being represented in media. But only thing David can say is “shut the fuck up” lmfao
@DavidSoComedy

ijustfloat ..... legit half the women I’ve dated have been non Asian and joe has literally been with a white woman for 5 years... so no o think you’re wrong. And to use verbiage like RAMPANT is ridiculous. We never denied that it happens but we’re saying that people take they’re particular instances and blanket every asian male to fall into this category of being an unattractive male. So no I whole heartedly disagree with you.

Huynherful huh? Nowhere in my post am I self pitying myself. I hate any guy who does that shit but it looks like you’re kind of projecting there buddy lmao. I was simply stating a fact that I disagree with their take on the whole subject and how they seem to completely dismiss other narratives because of their personal life experiences. It’s as if I were a black man and I refused to believe the existence of systemic racism in America because I was born into a wealthy family in the suburbs. I agree with the underlying message but just think he addressed it poorly is my two cents. And I actually think being Asian can be an advantage when meeting and dating women. I have dated enough black, Latina, white, purple, green women to know this shit

Im Mexican and in high school most of the Asians i grew up with were philipinos and i remember one of them telling me that they were like the Mexicans of Asia. And i asked him what he meant by that. And he answered me saying that because the are poc and because east asians saw them as people if low class. The same way we are seen in the U.S. So Asians are also colorist against each other.

Being a Hmong woman, I used to say I didn't like Asian men and I would never date/marry one. Growing up in the Hmong tradition with the idea drilled into our heads on how men have roles and women are forced to fit in to this mold from such a young age was upsetting. Now that I've grown up, and I've broaden my sense of thinking and understanding of who I am as a person, I realized it wasnt that I didnt like Asian men, it was I didnt like certain traits about the Asian men I was surrounded by in my family and I thought all Asian men carried these traits because all the men in my family were the same. They were shallow, spoiled, ungrateful and ignorant. So throughout my life I steered away from Asian men. But I got older and saw that not all Asian men are Hmong, and not all Asian races carry these traditions on strict gender roles that I (fortunately) broke out of. And thinking back, I truly wished I had been more open minded when i was younger. Maybe then I would have seen Asian men in a different light. And now I'm dating a Mexican

This isn't just an asian thing this manifest in all minority groups in America in a one way or another. It's a product of the civil rights movement. I was just explaining this concept to someone. I call it the Uber concept. It has a fancy physiological name but fuck that. When you get a waiting for a uber and it's a white Honda civic all of a sudden you see so many white civics. You don't notice then but there everywhere now. It's not because Uber is fucking with you it's because you put it in your mind to look for a white Civic. If you put in your mind that you can't make it and white people don't want you to succeed then that's all you're gonig to see. That comes from the civil rights movement. Successful movements don't die they become industries. Industries need a problem to sell to the public but what happens when you already solved the problem but you have this organization of people who based their lives around this goal. Convince people that their inferior. As long as they feel inferior it's easy to convince them they need a movement to help them .

I liked this episode a lot because ive have personal experience with this through out my whole life. I grew up in Dallas Tx in a predominantly black and Hispanic community, and literally through out my whole life before people even decided to say hello to me, their first impressions of me would always start at my eyes. So through out my childhood it made me feel like i was just the asian kid, and that's the only thing people saw me as. But then as i grew up, much like david i learned to develop a sense of humor, became more of the funny guy then just the asian guy and i made people notice me for something else besides my looks. Actions speak louder then words and much like joe says you just gotta work hard enough to where they can't ignore you.

As far as I know almost all the Singaporean Chinese women are like that but what really funny is that Asian women may worship white men but they really really hate it when we(Asian men) do the same because they knew that we worship white better than they are worshiping to White men. :D

I will play devil's advocate a bit considering that I lived in the south for a majority of my life. The Asian population isn't bad down here, but I pretty much grew up knowing most of them and just became more attracted to white girls. Now in my situation, it was more the "southern" boy thing that girls wanted and by no means was I into that kind of lifestyle or hobbies. That and I'm like 5ft tall. I already knew my height was probably gonna be my biggest disadvantage. However, I got in serious good shape and was pretty social. So I had no problem talking to girls as much as I just wasn't finding any interested in me. That was high school though. After high school I got my stride and dated several girls and now married. I just think most Asian guys need verification for themselves because I know I did. I made it my motivation to better myself so I wouldn't need that verification anymore. It took a couple years, but I finally managed to find someone. If my 5ft tall ass can marry a blue eyed farm girl who never left her hometown, then there is no real reason for anyone to be doing bad.

i always joke around with my more middle class/affluent friends that i dont know how to act around white ppl, but they dont know that im half serious. growing up in the ghettos of long beach, its very out of place to see a white person in the hood (now its a little more common since lb is getting gentrified). and then when i am around white ppls, i always feel the obligation to show i have a higher education.. to myself im like WHYYY?!?

There are a lot of women out there who don't care about any of those things- me included. Have self-confidence and start out with being friends with women your interested in and gradually make more clear that you want to give it a go. Lots of people are one, several or all of those things and have no problem. Next time you go out, walk into Walmart and just people watch the couples there or something haha. Kinda kidding but you know what I mean? The only people I’ve seen unable to get with someone are people who are socially awkward (my problem), bad personality, or have a victim mentality. Take care of your health, do things that make you happy, and examine the stories you tell yourself. Take care of yourself man.

Right and wrong at the same time, but we should be able to acknowledge the bullshit. Regardless if we want a life we want we have to work for it and gain our stride somehow, but again, it's not quite right to ignore a very real problem altogether, that really could be dealt with in a big way over time. So why not?
