A classic love song from the amazing Genesis i remember them performing this when I went to see them at the knebworth festival in 1978 genius

My wife and I used this as the recessional at our wedding. It’s become “our song”. 37 years of happy marriage, so I guess it worked. Still following each other. Thanks for the memory.

One of the most lush, gorgeous songs ever written. Major goosebumps, especially that synthesizer solo! Some people thought it was too sentimental, but I couldn't disagree more. Good on Phil Collins!

I am hearing this again for the first time. I never noticed was a great dance beat it had. They got an African feel with that cool rhythm. The song is so smooth and warm. Love how you loved it.

We were verry late, can't remember why. Entering the verry big sports arena, they were playing this song. I will never forget how beautiful it sounded. Can't remember too much from the rest of the concert, but this was awesom. 1978,I think it was. Thanks Sarah, fun memories. 👍👊❤️😁

It was their first real chart success. Phil often mentioned that after they released this song as a 7 inch suddenly they had much more females in the audience 😂 BTW, this is the official music video, it’s not a live performance.

I recall a band member saying in an interview that this song was responsible for bringing women into their fanbase. Before it came out they used to look out on the audience and see “a sea of dudes”.
