Totally agree with having a harder time playing against lower tier players. My situation isn't quite the same, I'm only Champ 1, but when I play ranked with my Champ friends, I play on par or better than most of the lobbies. When I play casual with my friend that's Gold, the opponents are so bad and unpredictable that I suddenly become a Plat

same issue when i used to play, could have been a grand champ but my daily party up was with my plat 3 mate and i could never read those lobbies or carry enough to rank up. I think it's because rocket league just has such a unique and insanely specific skill curve that you literally can only play well with people who are actually equal to your skill level or maybe slightly above

What Retals Is getting at in the first game... When he talks about lower ranked players... What he is getting at is... Lower ranked players tend not to take their time as much as higher ranked players... they'll just chase and make unpredictable plays sometimes... it's good to counter this by just playing safer and let them mess up because the quality of their plays is not ultimately going to be as potent as a top top player with your same rank who is on the same page as you; to where it becomes more of a mind game. And I don't mean xprt is one of these players... but retals is top 10 he has the tools to defend hard shots. it's just the lower and lower you go in their ranks the more you wanna lean towards shadowing when in defence. but in offence sure still be aggressive.

Yeah, but if it had just been the ball, it wouldn’t have slowed him that much. But because azap was on the other side of it (wasn’t really a true 50/50, more like a 90/10 lol) it was enough to slow him down barely.

For the demo on aZap, you hit the ball right before bumping into him, and you can actually see that you went out of supersonic because of it, so when you do reach him, you're not at max speed, and can't demo him

Azap is too crazy in recoveries and shooting out of every position which makes you uncomfortable/nervous and leads to many mistakes in your offense too. Crazy annoying to play against 😅

u should just do like private 1v1 with the top players - example - first, azap, tricky, daniel. would take all the stress away and allow you to maybe raise your ceiling to make these azap matches look like a cake walk.

Pros should lobby Psyonix for a very simple update to the matchmaking system, which is that it doesn't wait for a matching MMR if there is literally nobody on. There is no reason to not insta-queue against the next highest available player, none. It's such a trivial change that it can be done literally within the time it takes to queue for a single top ten 1s game, and the idea that Psyonix would rather waste productive time of their most valuable assets in the hundreds of times of what it would take to implement it, and DAILY over YEARS, is almost malicious in how careless and tone deaf it is.

He explain that the state in NA is bad right now. So they have more people to que in there regions making it easier to find games in the region. Which gives an advantage so to que in NA on EU servers there would be a slight delay based on ping. I guess you could argue the point of having a worse ping could potentially make you play faster because of the delay but I am not sure. That would help some on non LAN comps maybe.
