This board reminds me a lot of the new Keychron Q9 (40%). I'm not attracted to this particular model, but I do like 40% and the Preonic (50%) keyboards. I am not put off so much by the price as I am the needlessly oversized case. I have a DROP Planck, DROP Preonic and I have a YMDK Air40 delivering in the next few days. The YMDK Air40 has a sculpted, CNC anodized aluminum case. A few colors are available. It's QMK and VIA supported. I chose silver anodize and will be using DROP MT3 Dasher keycaps. It has an ortholinear layout. Total delivered price including everything except keycaps is $100. I'll most likely swap out switches and possibly stabilizers.

I've owned around 15 40% and smaller keyboards. A bunch were group buy boards, a bunch more were pretty typical in-stock boards like the BM40, BM43, Planck, etc. I've sold a few, bought a few, but generally kept my collection around 10 boards. With all that said, this board looks genuinely fantastic and I might have to pick one of these up. The boxy look is super nice and pretty different from a lot of the other boards I've owned in the past. I don't care too much for arrows on the base layer, but the layout certainly lends itself doing whatever you want, really. Thank you for the video, and I'll use your link when it's time for me to pick one up.

I've been using this 1.9% keyboard: its a function key and one other blank key that is all other keys. I mean, theres no reason for this keyboard, and I lose it really easily if I move it on my desk, but it looks really good....

“I’m not gonna call myself an enthusiast, I feel like I’d have a big head if I did.” 💀 Anywaysss, this board is definitely aesthetically pleasing, but is also something I personally wouldn’t purchase. I do find the dark violet/blueish color to be very pretty, especially with the keycaps on. As for the first sound test it was really just a very light clackish sound that wasn’t bad, but could definitely be improved. The tape you placed afterwards really did help though as the clack became deeper rather than remaining as light as it was before. Pretty solid video, keep it up CG 🤟

Are 40% keyboards not viable at all or daily normal use? I current rock a 65% and I'm really comfortable with that layout, because I generally never use anything apart from the alphas, mods, and num row, I genuinely have considered trying a 40% board
@talbotsolenberger4434 Жыл бұрын
They're definitely usable. They take a little bit of tweaking to get exactly just right for you, but that's part of the fun. I use a 60% right now, but basically don't use my number row at all unless I'm gaming. It really isn't that hard to adjust to it though, because with layers you put everything exactly where YOU want it to go.

I can use a 40% but only if it has the full alpha set along with the [];',./ keys. I think it's absolutely unusable if it's just alphas.
