Hobnobbing with Pat and Vanna in my TV debut, week of April 1, 1987. And I still look exactly the same. Really. Except for the Really Big 80's Hair. And some other stuff.

Ha, Yes, Piggy is alive and well--although a little battle scarred. She sits on her own little table in a corner of my living room, and has a wardrobe that consists of several fashionable bandanas (for April she is wearing red). As a pet, she's pretty low maintenance. As a conversation piece--priceless!

Oh the days when if you missed an episode of your favorite show, that was it, you would never know what happened... predating VHS tapes here as well. Now you can find anything you want on the internet, binge watch an entire series in a weekend etc. The pandemic, 2020 has turned most of the world into binge watchers. Hopefully we can get back to our previously scheduled lives prior to covid.

Eleanor is a pretty lady, with a classic name you rarely hear anymore
@giantfatberg Жыл бұрын
You know, Eleanor is a great name now that you mention it. Classic without sounding old lady like Gladys, Blanch, Gertrude, Henrietta, Iola (Mammas Family), Bessie, Edith, Bertha, etc. I had 3 girls and would’ve considered Eleanor if I had thought of it.
@mysecondemailatl Жыл бұрын
@@giantfatberg take a young attractive woman with one of those names you mentioned and are you still thinking its old lady like?
@giantfatberg Жыл бұрын
@@mysecondemailatl you’re absolutely right. Those names just have that association from watching old tv shows and from having relatives with those names. That, and they hardly get used anymore. I would love for all of them to make a comeback and break that association. They are just as nice as anything else people name their kids these days. There have been at least two people to name their kids “Hashtag.” To each their own but I think Gladys would be better

I miss this version of the game when you went for prizes, and in the bonus round you could choose what you played for, and they didn't give you any letters, but the R,S,T,L,N,E got so popular they now give them to you. Oh well. Times change I guess.

I can't go home without the pig. Those are seven words I never thought I'd hear spoken together on television. However, there is always the possibility of that kind of line in a really weird sitcom where a cop is one of the characters. Makes you think, doesn't it?😁

it was actually the following season I believe 87-88, they had a cash week and it stuck after that, so she was one of the last ones to do shop like this, which is quite interesting in its' own right
@Scrappicat4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I didn't care for shopping either. I recall some contestants not looking too happy about being forced to buy stuff you could tell they didn't really want.
@erika_fuzzbottom12 жыл бұрын
Must've been pretty interesting, to have a chance to play the version of the game that made you immediately buy stuff with your money. (Nevermind the fact that you got to be on TV.) Hey, you should make yourself a video telling about what it was like going on the show. Travelling there, being instructed of the rules, waiting on stage for the show to start, taking the stuff home... paying taxes. =P

@zachhoran I know it's from the Syndicated version (Season 4 if that airdate is correct) because Pat mentioned the $5000 space, the NBC editon never has such a winnings cap busting wedge. Also there's a lot of chuckling by Jack Clark. Between Pat and Eleanor, he really had some good laughs in that booth.
