I Can't See! 1st Time getting GLASSES!

As a former optician, now retired I always enjoyed fitting someone with their very first glasses. There reaction was much like yours was. It's so amazing to find out everything you were missing and not seeing properly for the first time in who knows how long. In your case your eyesight was probably gradually getting worse without you really realizing it for maybe a year or more. At this point you have had your glasses for about 4 days so your eyes are almost completely adjusted to the prescription in your glasses and you should be getting more and more used to wearing your glasses. I'm sure by now you noticed that things are even more blurry now when you take off your glasses than the first day when you got them. Your eyes didn't get any worse because of your glasses, but I'm sure it seems it has. What has happened is your eyes are no longer straining trying to see things anymore. So they have become relaxed which s how you want your eyes to be. But by being relaxed now when you take your glasses off it means your eyes are still just relaxing and that means everything is considerably more blurry now than ever before. Even though you probably don't have a very strong prescription it's easy to see that your already very comfortable wearing glasses so you're probably going to be wearing your glasses all the time now because they help you that much. It's perfectly okay for you to wear them all the time and it will keep you from maybe loosing them or even getting them broke and your of course not doing any harm to your eyes by wearing them all the time. I'm glad you got two pairs because if anything were to happen to your glasses you'll have the other pair to wear. You seem to need your glasses enough that I don't think you would want to be without glasses for a week or more waiting for new glasses to be made. Some helpful tips for you and your glasses. Since you seem like your going to wearing your glasses all the time at night when you go to bed don't bother folding them up. The more you open and close the faster the screws where the temples are will slowly begin getting loose which will make your glasses more prone to sliding down your nose. So find a nice save place to leave them while you sleep and if you have a dog or cat be sure they can't get to your glasses. because your glasses has your scent on them to them your glasses would be a play toy for them like maybe a sock.. Cleaning your glasses. i'm sure you were given one or two micro cleaning clothes for your glasses. One of those is the best to clean your glasses with. What you never ever want to clean your glasses with is tissues, toilet paper, paper towels or anything made from paper. Paper is made from wood and you would never use a log to clean your glasses would you? Actually the wood will cause very tiny scratches on your lenses which you never want of course. Neven lay your glasses on the lenses face down for the same reason. I'm sure an optician did a fitting to try and make your glasses feel as comfortable as possible on you and in looking at you wearing both pairs they looked like they were fitting you pretty well. But if they start hurting behind your ears or anywhere you need to have dad or mom take you to get then adjusted right away. You don't want the earpieces to rub a sore spot on your ear or behind your ears because then it will need to heal before you can start wearing your glasses again. And lastly enjoy wearing your glasses which you seem to be already doing. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

I got glasses around the same age as Mariah! I did the same thing with the 2 for $99 deal when I got my first pairs! I got a blue pair and a purple pair. The blue pair was my favorite but a bully at school stole them and never gave them back. One thing I wish I did was pay for upgraded lenses and good quality sunglasses. My eye health deteriorated and I developed a lot of scar tissue in my eyes from constantly being outside working as a lifeguard and playing sports. I did not realize how preventive measures would have helped me so much in the long run. So please protect your eyes!!! Good luck with the glasses, I think both styles look great! I thought the gray pair was purple until you said something! I’ll vote gray but the clear are a great choice as well!

Hey funny thing is Mariah got the same glasses as my twin and I we are identical mirror twins. That means that we are opposite. My twin her name is Jayla she is left handed and I am right handed. Her lazy eye is her right eye and mine is my left eye. We play high school basketball. I am on varsity and Jayla is on freshman. We ballas lol. We need our glasses all the time. You know what getting glasses for the first time um it might feel kind of weird at First but you have to get use to it for myself personally i ware Persciption glasses I’ve got use to it for the rest of my life and It worked out well I worn a lot of glasses when I was a kid way back when I hope your new glasses will do well Mariah and hope for the rest spread sunshine ☀️😊

I used to have perfect vision and then I woke up one day and couldn't see out my right eye. I was given eye drops but it never went back and it made my left eye also weaken. Now I have glasses forever and my eyes are getting worse. Plus I have bad allergies and my eyelashes fall out and irritate my eyes 😂 so yeah my eyes are a mess now. It was so hard for me to choose a pair 😂 and bow I have to get new ones cuz my eyes got worse in just a year, which is not good. But I don't want to have to choose again
