Fun fact about the rickety bridge, it doesn't matter how fast you move. It's health drains from you standing on it, and it drains faster with more people, which is further compunded by inventory weight. Once you get off of it, it starts recovering. It doesnt take long for the bridge HP to fill back up. So just take it fast with one or two people, and let it recover.

Also jumping doesn't drain the bridges HP, but if your in the air you aren't "on the bridge", so if your crossing Solo jumping will allow the bridge to regenerate just a bit each jump, making it last a really long time. With multiple people you would have to time your jumps which is hard, but technically jumping would temporarily lessen the "people on the bridge".
