Keep the El Camino and get antique insurance for it. It’s very cheap. Also consider a fuel injection kit for it. They’re a little expensive but it’s worth it if you plan to use it as a daily. Carburetors don’t like modern ethanol gasoline making them even more finicky than they already are.
@PuEDeVАй бұрын
injection kits makes zero sense cost wise. carbs can handle ethanol fine along as you run it every other week to prevent the gas from drying in the float bowls(ethanol gas leaves behind a sticky residue). A low pressure e pump also helps a ton for priming the bowls.

The first one sounds like a misfire, could be a easy fix or an expensive one, what i would do if i was you is to start the vehicle then pull the spark plug wire one at a time. After pulling one and it makes the engine sound worse then plug it back in a d go to the next one. If you pull one and it makes no change to how it sounds then that is the issue and you need to address it. It could be as simple as a bad sparkplug, sparkplug wire, or coil. But it could also mean a bad cylinder, rings, or lifters. Hope this helps!
