not always the guards fault majority of the time security of any form fails due to incompetence of non security staff from the looks of it the leisure center staff seem to be in the habbit of breaking protocol and not informing security of late night excursions nighttime maintenance and other out of the norm situations so after a while security become used to this and tend to let certain things slip of let there guards down more when situations arise same happens in it security staff hand out the wifi keys like there handing out candy managers constantly browsing there facebooks and downloading random shite all day long people leaving passwords on postits under the keyboards then people complain when the latest vulnerability test comes back failed or much worse a actual attack took place when theyve been told a thousand times not to do the shit they do

I work at a pool/leisure centre.. The workers should have checked the tube until they met in the middle, or had one going from top to bottom.. That float room was such a mess.. We'd be in trouble at my place if we closed up with noodles and other equipment all over the floor.. I can't believe that security guard though... No. We're super careful about checking the buildings. We have had people hiding before, not specifically to stay overnight, more just to prank the staff or mess with people. Usually young kids.. Once we leave the fire doors are all alarmed. It's a huge place though, all the sports courts, the pool etc, we even have a bouncy castle used for kids parties, and lots of gymnastic equipment, taekwondo mats... but it is all locked up in the equipment rooms and all the key cupboards are locked and alarmed, and the keys are in the managers office, also alarmed.. so yeah, no overnight challenges at my place of work.. XD
