Quick tip that'll make catching everything infinitely easier, use both the Fire Bow and Poison Bow to inflict two status effects on pals, which in turn will substantially increase your odds of capture by a very significant margin. The bows are preferable to the crossbows as you don't want to actually deal damage with them, just inflict the status.

Pro tip: If you have large pals at your base, build a box / room to hide your silo in. Any pet bigger than roughly Anubis size will get stuck on top of it and break their pathing.

funny how pocketpair reacted to the people using exploits in the game. people putting the Pal-Box near a boss turned into a raid boss scenen where you would WANT to have as many pals out as you can, and than the climbing on the palsphere turned into Croajiro who's partnerskill is to launch players into the air XD
