Spectacular Jonas!! Really excellent work. I had a thought at the end there, might be fun to carve this one again but use a light colored wood and use your colored Spirit Stains to color the aurora or maybe mix some Mica into the stain and then apply it to get a sparkle effect.

Your illustrations are wonderful and compelling. Have you ever considered creating a children’s book (or adult, for that matter) with your illustrations? Perhaps illustrating a regional folk tale? A story weaving together the various creatures you have created? I would be the first to buy it!

Your work is beautiful and impressive. After listening to your narration and comments about some of the challenges you face in your woodworking, I wanted to recommend another youtube content creator: Stinnett Sticks. He does highly ornate wooden walking sticks that include wildlife (mostly very realistic looking snakes).

Your artwork is fabulous! I'm wondering if sometime you could make something like this bear and attach small LED lights if various colors to make the Aurora Borealis look more beautiful, I'll bet that would be great! It is great as it is now but I think it would be even more beautiful with lights! Sorry for the loss of your dog and long time friend, I had a dog that I considered a soulmate,it's a very long story, but we were together for 15 years and his loss I still feel deeply today 🥺😔😢❤

It's beautifully carved as is all your works....but...I cant help seeing something else too... lol I might have carved it out the base to a point in the direction the northern lights are leaning. it would have added a wee lil more stability...

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful dog. This is a wonderful piece❣ The color and figure are intense but work beautifully with the movement you have put into it. I noticed you were using a red grinding bit for most of your work, but was that a diamond bit you used on the face? I have a piece of briar I started a bear and two cubs in, but as I worked into the face on mom the cracks/creases went deeper and deeper and her face got shorter and shorter. So it sets waiting on my indecision in what to do next. I find Briar difficult only in it's unpredictability, otherwise it is a rich and detail holding wood. Very like the black walnut. I also carved an ox yoke (working) from the silver birch. Nice medium. Very like white maple.
