I catch a BIG Flounder in the Lagoon on a simple technique! Hilton Head Island

After a few days of being embarrased by these brackish water fish I fianlly land a BIG Flounder! A simple technique that has proven to work great at Palmetto Lagoon here on Hilton Head Island. Grab some minnows and carolina rig them on bottom and be prepared to CATCH FISH! If you have any questions please post a comment below.

Man I’ve been fishing down here for the past two summers I’m just fishing off a dock down here in a lagoon next to a golf course here in palmetto dunes and I can’t really get much I’ve been using spoons and shrimp I get like some sunfish i caught a monster Flounder off a Rooster tail last year but I can’t seem to set any hooks on much I wish I could move around some but I haven’t had a chance to bring my kayak out here and they don’t let us fish from bridges and stuff anymore any tips

Live mudminnows on bottom rigs with some free egg weights around 1/4 oz to keep it on bottom! Also try live shrimp and minnows on popping corks with a 2 foot leader! good luck and enjoy that place..it truly is one of my favorite places to fish

Have you ever tried the Vudu Shrimp? I even use them in Lake Erie and in rivers... They are deadly under a popping cork...

I would fish palmetto dunes lagoon! With a bike it is super easy to find fishing spots be careful though there are a couple gators around

What road is that where you caught the Gator Trout?? Looks like an easy access and a place to start! The map to figure out palmetto dunes is hard to see where to go on the internet unless there is a map on the island to purchase.

I got a rubber net and make sure the fish don’t touch the ground as much as possible. I already have so much gear to carry lol and I am always mobile.
