The catch and cook is a good idea. I use a 2/0 hook from shore and half ya bait size, everyone has a diff opinion. Do whatever works. Bless you.

@@CanPacificFishing yeah, but from on shore in the bay, near geelong bay, ya aint going to land a pinky/snapper too big for a 2/0 like once a year if that. 99.999999% of the other things hooked better on a smaller hook.
