Everyone is completely wrong with the green screen talk. Majorly barking up the wrong tree......if those were real footprints you'd see the heel appear first then the roll to the ball of the foot as is usual with walking. This illusion must have been performed by other means......but this is staged, that is a fact......because ghosts obviously don't exist. I would suggest some form of stop motion animation technique for the light and stepping sequence, followed by a fishing line pulling the other item over in standard recording by someone 'off set'.
